SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME! I DON'T UNDERSTAND! (Vanity)
October 10, 2014 | Din Maker

Posted on 10/11/2014 6:30:44 AM PDT by Din Maker

I don't understand why one is called a "purist", a "troll", a "fascist", a "liberal Democrat" and a lot of other, non-flattering names just because they.....

Stand up to powerful, political elites, who have a lot of power over us, the common man, and say to them:

"You hate Conservatives! You have vowed to "crush" us wherever you find us."

"You used racist antics and Black Democrats to steal an Election from a fine young Conservative in MS. In so doing, you disenfranchised the votes of everyone of his supporters. You violated their Civil Rights, and that can be proved in a Court of Law. Yet, no one in the GOP hierarchy reproved you."

"You think you are so entitled to a Senate seat in a State that is not even your legal residence. You declared in legal documents that your legal residence is in a State you have lived in since your children were in Elementary School. And you declared on video that you only visit the State you represent when you have an opponent."

"You want our campaign donations so you can pour big bucks into the campaign of RINOs, like yourself, and hang out to dry, a true Conservative like Terri Lynn Land in Michigan."

"You hate people like Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin. You work behind the scenes to discredit and "muzzle" them. Yet, you call them to Kansas when your boy is in trouble and might lose his Senate seat."

Somebody please tell me why we have to kowtow down and give our "blessings" and our votes to people who have molested us for years and we're not allowed to rise up and fight back when we could rid our Party, our nation and our very lives of a couple of them and still win control of the Senate.

Somebody please tell me why.

It is very simple Din:

The establishment Pubs are enriching themselves via crony capitalism, & the bigger the government the more money there is to steal.

You’re supposed to worship a letter. It, being “R”.
All hail the letter, for it is God on earth.

Ah, you noticed that too.
Allow me to repost from this thread.

I don’t think that is a fully accurate picture.

We do face an existential threat in America, and for all their hideous warts and hunchbacks, the Republican party isn’t it. The statist ideology represented by B. Hussein Obama and his cabal are the threat.

Wait, what?
No, seriously, what?

The Republican party is all for that statist ideology you mention.
As was pointed out in Post 25 and 67:

The GOP had majority power in the House and Senate, and occupied the White House, 10 years ago. What did they do with all that power to move the agenda of liberty forward?
Answer: nothing.

A GOP that cannot even sell liberty, limited governments and free markets to the American people is worse than useless.
It is a party of tyranny enablers, and I will have none of it.

What about things they could have stood against?
  1. Amnesty (instead of their “path to citizenship”/“comprehensive immigration reform” BS)
  2. Bailouts (instead of “I had to abandon free market principles in order to save the free market system.”)
  3. ObamaCare itself (instead of their “fix the bad parts and keep the good parts” BS)
  4. the NDAA (especially its indefinite detainment)
  5. the NSA's domestic espionage (seriously, with as unpopular as this is the only explanation of why they didn't go full-bore against it is that they approve of it!)
  6. the IRS's political targeting (like the above; most Americans [even those with a somewhat liberal bent] find the political targeting reprehensible.)
  7. aiding terrorists (instead of Fast & Furious, arming Syria, etc)
  8. irresponsible financial practices (they perpetually spending more than they take, raise the debt-ceiling, and sell the people, their children, and their children's children into slavery; after all, the national debt is money secured against future income [taxes], the taxes imposed on the earnings of the country's residents.)
(Thanks to BigSkyFreeper for mentioning many items on that list.)
If the Republican party cannot, or will not, address any of these issues why should I, or anyone, vote for their candidates?

The Republican party is like the NRA: perpetually screaming "they're going to take your guns" but then not pushing back against the underlying mechanisms that would allow confiscation (or infringement in general): when was the last time you saw the NRA really push for repeal of the GCA or NFA? — No, that would eliminate the urgency of their cries, it would also make them have to spend money on some other advertising scheme. — Exactly like the Republicans and their constant the other guy's worse! schtick.

Likewise, when was the last time you saw the Republican party push back against voter fraud?
How about cutting off the IRS's power with a universal flat-rate income tax, no exemptions, no write-offs, no credits, no exceptions?
How about destroying agencies whose whole SOP revolves around shitting on the Constitution? (e.g. the NSA, the TSA, the EPA, the DEA, etc.)
Apparently they can't be bothered to do that. What good are they?

Apparently, they are the lesser of two evils, and we owe them our vote regardless of their history or actual intent — apparently we owe them our undying allegiance, our religious fervor, and yes, even our very souls!

Join us reading the Psalms, chapter 23 (HERS):
1 The Party is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 They maketh me to lie down in green cards: and leadeth me beside the turbulent waters.
3 They restoreth my soul: they leadeth me in the paths of The Party for their pride's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of statism, I will fear no evil: for they art with me; their lesser of two evils, they comfort me.
5 They preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, terrorists & invaders: they anointest my head with urine; my poisoned cup surely runneth over.
6 Surely humiliation and spite shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Republican Party for ever.
Now, join us in our irrational oblational devotional:
Master Republican guide us. Master Republican teach us. Master Republican protect us. In your light we thrive. In your mercy we are sheltered. In your wisdom we are humbled. We live only to serve. Our lives are yours.
Those who complain about you being a purist, troll, fascist, liberal, and/or Democrat because you refuse to support the R when they become unacceptable are truly embedded into the Republican Party Cult.

Here's looking at you, Drango.

Do not be surprised if there are wolves in sheep’s clothing as well sometimes. Brush off some negative things people say, it could be an attempt at disinformation. Nothing lower than the Rats view, sure there’s plenty to be upset about the Republicans on but their platform is not downright evil.

I lived on a sailboat in Dego back in the 90’s. What a great part of the country.

I’m now aground at 9494’ in the southern Rockies of Colorado.

I know, you of course, are aware that the only good Bloody Mary is made with vitamin G (gin).

I would urge EVERYONE to also read the rules of posting here, it comes with the understanding that some wild points of view are not going to be entertained and that’s fine with me.

Also, RINOS gets tossed around a lot but I think CINOS, Conservatives in name only is really the go to word, we have some true Conservatives that have been in the Republican Party, of course, Reagan and a few others, Rush. The Republican Party is the Conservative Party hopefully, but I’m not sure if RINO is always an adequate word.

This is why I’m trashed, but I support the Article V movement fully.

Better the enemy I know. I’m voting commie nationally, and freedom-oriented, hopefully Article V supporting, but definitely Liberty and self governing locally/state.

FORCE THE ISSUE.

Voting RINO “R” nationally will only delay the civil war.

“Just so you understand conservative republicans are in the minority at the voting booth in many states. The average Republican voter is a centrist/moderate middle of the roader. That is why what we call RINO’s get elected and stay in office. We have to make truly conservative gains where we can. Its a slow process.”

I hate to repeat myself but it just seemed necessary.

You cannot pin your hopes on the GOP for restoring the constitutional republic. That’s not how its going to happen. There are not now nor will there ever be again enough conservatives to vote the fundamental transformation out. However we do need to elect as many Trey Gowdy’s and Ted Cruz’s as possible so somebody will be there to pick up the pieces after the coming resolution conflict.

Here, here!

It’s time for Americans to start a second party that will compete effectively with the Uni-Party called the United States Conservative Independent Party (USCIP)!

“You OWE your vote in slavish devotion to whatever POS slime gets nominated, peasant!”
That, in a nutshell, is the mantra of the RINO pushers.
Don’t let it bother you.
Just remind them that you do not owe your vote to anyone, the candidate must earn it.
And if the candidate doesn’t, too bad.

There is a variance between political temperament and the practice of politics.

As Russell Kirk points out, Bismark showed us that politics is the “art of the possible.’ You can’t accomplish anything without success.

This runs in direct conflict with holding and supporting an entirely principled line, the expression of political temperament.

Would we be worse off if Obama had lost in 2012? Probably not. Would we still be going downhill in liberty if Romney had won — that’s likely. So either stance being held, the position of the Possible, or the unbent standard of Principle will come into conflict with the other.

This forum is the collision of that discourse on the conservative side so we bicker and insult each other.

DM

Back in 1998 I showed up here when the Foxnews bulletin board was taken down due to discourse issues (I like to think I had something to do with that).

When I showed up here I started “posting”. Got my ass handed to me intellectually.

This is not a bulletin board, this is not a raving lunatic rant board. The people here are most likely 12 to 13 times smarter and more patriotic.

Rule #1 for a Newbie - STFU and listen.

Respond with your opinion/thoughts and you will grow up fast. The beauty of FreeRepublic is that independent thought is held in high esteem, going honestly against consensus is admirable. I can’t guarantee love though. Take the hits.

A Vanity post (where you believe what you have to say is so incredible and underreported that you just cant hold back) are ok, some are great, but you better be packing intellectual heat if you want dip your toe in that water.

Welcome to FR. You must be here for a reason. If your here for love of freedom you’re in the right place. If you here to agitate, like a cheep 70’s maytag washing machine, Ozone with be the last thing you smell.

Yes — That was the point of my post.

There are not now nor will there ever be again enough conservatives to vote the fundamental transformation out.

I disagree.
We don't need conservatives to do it, just people who value liberty or justice — and despite what a lot of people here think, the average Democrat you see on the streets values justice… this means you have to put your cause into those terms. (e.g. An example of where their sense of justice was offended is the NSA's domestic wiretapping.)

The reason that conservatism has failed with a majority of people is because the Republicans have wrapped themselves up in that flag and been utterly feckless. So, insofar as the younger generations are concerned conservative means preserving the status quo — which, incidentally, is a valid and correct definition of the word.

However we do need to elect as many Trey Gowdy’s and Ted Cruz’s as possible so somebody will be there to pick up the pieces after the coming resolution conflict.

Perhaps; I think it would be better, however, to promote the cause of liberty among the general population.
