We did that! They can get a free ID. I bet they can all whip out ID if needed to get a beer or on a plane.

Most of the indigents in question won't be getting on a plane in their lifetimes. Perry failed to go the extra mile - which is provide free transportation to get the voter ID's. Given the fact that all cities have some kind of subsidized public transportation, it shouldn't be a big deal to set aside a driver or two whose part-time job is to get people to state ID offices and back. The objection is that indigent voters are disfranchised because they can't get to state ID offices without spending $50 round-trip. It's a valid one.

I think your idea is interesting. If a person can refuse to participate and can still vote, there goes your control. And privacy being whatever the government declare it to be, good luck forcing someone to participate in this if they don’t want to.

I hate to be Debbie Downer here, but it seems there would be problems. Then again perhaps the Supremes would agree with this. Heaven only know what their collective mind approves of one moment to the next these days.

Push on. See if you can develop some broad interest in it. In theory I have no problem with it. I think it could cut down on multiple votes. That’s a great goal.

One of those “wise” ass Latina La Raza “judges”, huh? America doesn’t need this kind of crap. This country is in too much serious trouble to be putting up with bimbos like this.

Well, we already have one bimbo like that on the Supreme Court, who has yet to flex her "Latina" identity muscles. When she does things will come to a very hairy head.

I assume this ruling will be appealed, as it is full of juvenile speculation, unsupported opinion, false comparisons and ignorance between the propriety of requiring something and prohibiting something.

LOL, and thanks. I’m not attempting to persuade anyone, so discouragement isn’t possible. Just running it up the flag pole, and I know that the possibilities of generating a discussion or sparking an idea with the people whom make these decisions, well, is unlikely.

And frankly, our country has some overwhelming problems, and we have a President, who acts, as if he is working for the enemy. IMHO.

Greg Abbott needs an emergency appeal to the SCOTUS to reinstate it - just as the ACLU did to get the Wisconsin law tossed

if you third partiers keep voting in rats, this creep will be on the SC.....

If you jack-ass GOP-E supporters would actually support only Conservatives, we'd actually have a conservative nominee that actual Republicans could vote for instead of Progressive Liberals like Mitt Romney who support killing unborn babies and the Pervert agenda.

Here it is, for the curious or interested.

Texas Voting Decision

I usually read these, when I can find a copy on line, for what an Irish friend calls the LOLZ.

Yes, the law, even today, if often "a ass."

Our side approaches this wrongly. Candidates should be asked and our commie competition... ‘is it ok, legal, and good for illegal aliens or non-violent or people imitating someone else, to vote whether they are voting republican or democrat?

To your face they will never say yes to this. Then that is what the voter ID is for. NAACP elections require ID as do getting welfare.

Voting experts have pointed out the long distances and restricted hours of these state offices, which make obtaining the ID difficult for lower-income residents without cars as well as older voters.

I do agree with this. It is ridiculous for government functions to require citizens to have to miss work for stuff like this. Registrations, permits, licenses, court dates, etc., all cause undue hardship on any working person. Not everyone can afford to miss a half a day, or more, of work just to pay a $200 speeding ticket. Government facilities should be open late hours, and definitely over the weekend. Gov holiday should be Mon-Wed (or Tues-Thurs), with reduced hours/employees those days. Stagger 2-day weekend between all their people. That means the office is open 7 days a week. Hours have them open until 19-2000. They can either open at 06 and have double-shifts, or open at 10 or 1100.

The young women at the time did not have driver's licenses since their parents could not afford car insurance..

False. You don't need insurance to get a DL, you just go in and take the tests and all. You only need the insurance in order to get your car inspected (maybe for initial registration, I don't remember).

So, voting, which wasn't universally Constitutionally recognized until 1920/1971, doesn't need an ID, but the basic right to self-defense needs a couple IDs, a waiting period, a couple forms, etc...

“Because “Hispanics and African-Americans” are too stupid to find legal IDs?:

That’s exactly what I thought. How do they apply for welfare, a bank account, or a doctors visit? democrats dont’ want it becuase it makes it harder for them to commit voter fraud. Says fraud is not that bad (to paraphrase it) Well how do they know for sure?
