HOUSTON, Texas -- On Monday Texas Governor Rick Perry dismissed the notion that a travel ban from Ebola-afflicted nations would be an effective step to prevent a viral outbreak in the United States. Perry's comments echo those of the Obama Administration; over the past week the CDC has repeatedly refused to support banning flights from countries affected by Ebola.

Perry supporters are liberals themselves so no. they are just fine with his liberal actions.

Simple math. Perry supports a raft of lib positions and his supporter by definition support him. Ergo they support liberalism, ergo they are liberals.

Don’t forget Governor Perry hired Mississippi’s henry barbour. Why does Perry need someone of barbour’s ilk?

“Not that there has ever been a doubt, but Rick Perry has once again confirmed that he is far from being anything even remotely approaching presidential.”

Hiring henry barbour is another confirmation.

And there was some more Rick Perry news that didn't seem to attract much attention:

Rick Perry Hires Top McCain 2008 Aide Steve Schmidt>

Why anyone would still hire Schmidt is beyond me. Supposedly, this hire is for the trumped up criminal charges against Perry, but I wouldn't be surprised if Schmidt remained on his team.

That oughta send the PDSers running to the Perrybot camp with bells on. Two heroes in one place!

Perry drives me up a wall: here he’s got a chance to nail Buckwheat to the wall as an America-hating commie who wants to kill white people and he swings and misses. Idiot.

Perry seems to have gone through some sort of process lately and come out the other end. And, whether he knows it or not, he sent a message with these peculiar hires and he’s put off some voters who were trying to find reasons to give him another chance, including me. - Plus, the absurd pronouncement today concerning travel from ebola countries.

Actually, it’s all pretty bizarre, like he’s lost his bearings.

The guy was Al Gore’s state chairman, and the coordinator of the Rudy Giuliani campaign. I’m far from convinced he’s ever had any bearings.

No, he simply reverted to the Dem he was originally. Plenty of people here have screamed it from the rooftops for years.

We all want to do the Fox Mulder thing . We all want to believe in something. But peoples actions define who they are and we HAVE to stop pretending that those actions are part of some double super secret conservative masterstroke of genius.

Sometimes a cigar really is just a cigar.

Hiring henry barbour is another confirmation.

I agree. But it never fails that in threads like this someone always says "That's it, Perry just lost my support".

I am always amazed that with Perry's well-documented liberal leanings it would take anything more for any conservative to realize that he isn't what his die-hard supporters herald him as being.

From his praising of Hillary (see my tagline) to his opposing Ted Cruz’s senatorial campaign, to his endorsing Mitch McConnell, the man who has publicly waged war on the TEA Party to advocating for an open border, Rick Perry is not a conservative and should never get anywhere near the White House.

Why NOT have a temporary ban until we know that this thing is burned out? Explain that in a cogent response, dope.

It’s simple. You have the more open leftists backing him to twist the knife from within and stop us from getting our shit together while we argue over Goodhair and you have the people who he led to leftism because they wanted to believe so badly.

Either way, they collectively have seriously damaged conservatism as a whole in doing it.

Absolutely. The nature of this virus is such that the only way it can be transmitted here is via plane. Slower means of transportation wouldn’t work. The carrier would be dead long before they ever got here.

Of course, if the Keyestone Kops in the CDC and the Obama Administration let this thing get rolling here, all bets are off anyway.

Could already be the case. We don’t really know.

If the GOP backs an air travel ban, the question becomes “What about the illegals marching across the border unhindered?”

Their whole Amnesty push collapses and their lib donors pull out.
