Spanish Nurse Found Out She Had Ebola Online
Sky News ^ | October 8, 2014

A Spanish nurse being treated for ebola has said she did not tell doctors she had been in contact with the virus and only found out she had the disease after reading the news online.

The 40-year-old told Spanish TV station Cuatro she did not consider she might have ebola until the last moment.

She said: "I found out on my mobile phone. I felt something was up because to begin with the doctors and nurses in Alcorcon were coming in and out every hour and then they start to come in less often.

"Then I was listening to them behind the door and I suspected something, then the last time they came in white suits.

"I asked my doctor for my result and they weren't very clear with me and then I really suspected it.

"I got my mobile and I read on (Spanish news website) El Pais that they'd said I had two positive tests for ebola. But no one had told me."

It must be hard to deliver that kind of news. But, that is what they are paid to do.

She’s on a need to know basis and didn’t need to know.

When her treaters started coming into her room in moon suits, that should have been a clue.

It is hard to know anything at this distance, but I keep wondering if this nurse is a big flake of some type or another, something just seems off about her whole involvement.

Dogs can carry Ebola and spread it while not getting sick themselves.

Farm rules...put down the terminal animal.

This Mensa “nurse” does not exude confidence in the medical establishment there.

Dogs don't die from ebola, but they do carry the virus from one human to another.

farm rules I understand. But what could we have learned from the dog's antibodies if this is a virulent strai? I read about the pig/monkey experiment but not sure if we've studied dogs?

When the outfit your nurse is wearing reminds you of Neil Armstrong, you are sooo screwed.

I think people who had “been in contact” with ebola then lied about it to avoid being quaranteened someplace without adequate treatment or worse, in proximity with people who were dying of it.
So this nurse specifies she never told them....why....she’s a nurse and she’s supposed to tell. I don’t want her to die of ebola but I’m not happy with her umbrage that doctors didn’t tell her when her decision not to tell anyone put so many people at risk.

Ok, that right there is a terrifying prospect. I wonder if any strays lucked the vomit off the sidewalk in Dallas. Dogs carrying Ebola would be nearly impossible to control outside of massive culling efforts. I’m not a dog person but I would hate to see that happen. And yet, if it didn’t, and the virus got into a large population of dogs...

If I find out I have Ebola I’m calling Nancy Pelosi and Harry Ried and tell them I have a donation for a million dollars and want them to come pick it up.
