Thirty five years ago blacks were saying that the reason they were being “forced” into the big cities was so whitey could then provoke a nuclear war with the Russians and wipe the black population out.
Blame blame blame.

To some extent, they do have their way. I work in land development, and all sorts of roadblocks are put up, which impede our ability to build on the outskirts of the city. The planning director has even used the term ‘white flight’ when opposing some of our projects.
The most recent development...the one that will keep us all ‘on the reservation’, and trapped in the existing city limits, comes from the EPA. In the name of “Stormwater Quality”, they have set up requirements that make it extraordinarily expensive to develop new land. So the very rich can have their estates...and the rest of us get Soviet Block apartment buildings.
Back in the 1950s it started that way. Blacks were increasingly becoming professionals and working at well paying jobs, moving into the middle and upper class. Remember, back then it took 20% or more down to get a mortgage, and the interest rate penalty for less than stellar credit shut out many buyers. So the blacks buying in your neighborhood would tend to be professionals, doctors, lawyers, businessmen, people with stable work histories and family lives.
But some whites panicked upon seeing blacks move in nearby. Rather than wait and watch to see what kind of neighbors they would be, they put their homes up for sale. There were also real estate agents who engaged in "panic peddling", telling owners that their property values would decrease unless they sold out of a "changing" neighborhood before it changed too much.
This was seen as an opportunity by investors, who would buy out the owners and use the homes as rental properties. Renters in general were a bit less meticulous about their living standards, and once the process was in motion it fed upon itself.
The city I grew up near, Birmingham, is now 21% white.
This is the same Birmingham that had all the civil rights rallies in the 1960’s. Its demographics have been completely flipped around.
Another hallmark of this phenomenon is overall population decline - 12% drop in the last decade.
Detroit...Ferguson...Birmingham...and countless other cities. They all follow the same pattern. I could probably use Detroit as a baseline for calibration, and predict Ferguson’s future demographic shifts with a good deal of precision.
There are no racial fault lines.
The fault lines in question are cultural. There is America and there is feral urban America. (see...... no racial slurs or comments)
The fault line has slipped and there was a quake. The damage was trivial but the event was unacceptable to those that thought they escaped St Louis
A woman I work with had a house worth 90k prior to the riots. After the riots it was valued at 25k. She walked away from it because no one would buy it.
She and and five other white families on her block alone.
Blacks complain about segregation but create it and yes, Ferguson and everything around it will further devolve. It’s a shame because right down the street is a nice university and the fortune 100 company express scripts.

We could go on for hours about this. The “Great Society” is a paternalistic plan designed to keep blacks dependent on government and to keep them voting democratic. Black leaders and politicians have exploited the plan over the last 50 years at the expense of their voting base.
When their policies turned some of the cities into urban no man’s lands, federal aid wasn’t enough to stem the tide of human and urban decay. No business or people running businesses of any import, would, (or should) invest money in an environment doomed to fail.
This is where the “racist” playbook gets opened.
So I agree, the problems are not due to “racism” as we tend to see it, but rather an intentional flaw in the overall plan that was designed to benefit those black leaders (and their multi-hued cohorts) who exploited their base. It also gave them the convenient political cover of “racism” to mask their mismanagement and failures, whether they were intentional or not.
They "like white girls" like OJ liked Nicole. I think they date white girls to 1. hurt white men, and 2. cause fewer white babies. How many commercials and ads feature a black male with a white, usually blonde, woman? And how often do you see it the other way around? I don't think that is coincidence.
Without discrimination, wisdom is an illusion.
