Australia will soon ban foreign 'hate preachers'

CANBERRA, Australia (AP) -- Australia's prime minister says his government will soon introduce a system for banning foreign "hate preachers" from entering the country.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott also told Sydney Radio 2GB on Wednesday that he will attempt to outlaw the radical Islamic group Hizb-ut-Tahrir under proposed tougher counterterror laws.

Abbott says he is angry and frustrated that under existing counterterror laws his government cannot outlaw Hizb-ut-Tahrir, which is banned by several other countries.

But under amendments before the Parliament, groups that promote terrorism would be banned. The current prohibition only applies to groups that engage in terrorism.

Abbott says he does not need new laws to ban hate preachers from traveling to Australia.

Abbott was reacting to a lecture that Hizb-ut-Tahrir is promoting in Sydney on Friday against U.S.-led combat in Syria.

I understand what he's doing and why but the ease with which this can be modified to apply to Christian pastor's who preach against homosexuality is scary.

Libs here are salivating for just such a law.

in the long run this will only be applied to genuine bible-believing christian preachers. easy way to ban those who preach the unabashed truth about the perversion of homosexuality and adultery.

First thing I thought he was talking about. Hate preachers = gospel preaching, according to promoters of homosexuality.

This law will one day be used against Christians. The proper response was to get rid of the welfare and the laws which criminalize descrimination against muslims. Take away the freebies and let communities, businesses, and individuals shun muslims until they behave or leave.

I completely agree. But, because they think they have to make a law to tell people not to listen to hate preachers, ie people are too stupid to discern evil from good, then the population is incapable of ignoring the evil and accepting the good. That doesn’t mean the population is indeed incapable of discernment, but the politicians and legislatures and leaders apparently believe the population is incapable. Are they right? I don’t know, but a population where a majority have no discernment no amount of laws will work. And this will be used against bible believing Christians.

Imams calling for beheadings in the streets will be treated with kid gloves, Christians arguing against the agenda of death will be deported.

Thats how these laws seem to work these days, sadly.

True. Think about it. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. What is more terrifying than the thought of living eternity with NO laughter, no light, no peace, no joy, no love. Only hate, pain, crying, gnashing of teeth (without the night guards) and fear, unwavering fear.

Let’s say you are an abortionist. How about being dismembered for eternity. Over and over and over again.

Lord, have mercy, when we ask for it.

A serious start. Now let England and the US follow.

The rest of Europe is basically lost unless there is a conservative revolution and I don’t mean at the polls.
