Political Correctness on Islam Can Lead to More Killings

I opened a recent TIME Magazine (9/29/14) today and saw in big bold words a quote from British Prime Minister David Cameron on ISIS: “They are not Muslims. They are murderers.” With all due respect to the Prime Minister---they are Muslims, and they are murderers.

Our president said something similar after the beheading of American James Foley in August. “ISIL speaks for no religion. No just God would stand for what they did yesterday, or what they do every day. No faith teaches people to murder innocents” (presstv.com, 8/20/14).

It’s news to ISIL that they have nothing to do with Islam. Whatever you call them, ISIL (the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) or ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) or IS (Islamic State) certainly has to do with Islam. They are informed by Islam which says to slay the infidel wherever you may find them (Surah 9:29) and to kill the Muslim who leaves his religion.

Many in the West deal with Islam through the prism of political correctness. Yes, the thinking goes, there are a few bad apples among the Muslims today, but the Christians had their crusades.

The crusades lasted roughly from 1100-1300 AD, where “Christian” armies sought to make Jerusalem safe once again for Christian pilgrims. They came in response to the aftermath of the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem in 637. No conquest of Jerusalem, no crusades, perhaps.

The moral equivalence that goes on through political correctness puts all religions on the same equal path, regardless of their actual track record. Mother Teresa, meet Osama bin Laden.

I don’t often agree with Bill Maher, and I was even a guest on his program four times when it was on ABC-TV. It was usually four against one, and I was the one.

But Maher eloquently showed how ludicrous it is to draw this moral equivalence between Islam and Christianity. He was a guest on Charlie Rose’s PBS program recently, and he wouldn’t let Rose equate Islam to Christianity, as the mainstream media so often does.

Here is some of their dialogue:

“MAHER: Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave the Christian religion you should be killed for it. Vast numbers of Christians do not treat women as second class citizens. Vast numbers of Christians --

“ROSE: I agree with that --

“MAHER: -- do not believe if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ you should get killed for it…. There was a Pew poll in Egypt done a few years ago -- 82 percent said, I think, stoning is the appropriate punishment for adultery. Over 80 percent thought death was the appropriate punishment for leaving the Muslim religion. I'm sure you know these things.

“ROSE: Well I do. But I don't believe --

“MAHER: So to claim that this religion is like other religions is just naive and plain wrong. It is not like other religious. The New York Times pointed out in an op-ed a couple weeks ago that in Saudi Arabia just since August 4th, they think it was, they have beheaded 19 people. Most for non-violent crimes including homosexuality….[I]n Mecca where infidels, non-Muslims, are not even allowed in the holy parts of the city….They do behead people. Now if they were beheading people in Vatican City, which is the equivalent of Mecca, don't you think there would be a bigger outcry about it?”

I never thought I’d say it, but, good for Bill Maher. If we can’t speak the truth about what motivates the radical Muslims, then we’ll enable them to go on killing innocent people. Yet our politicians and news media so often cover up for Islam.

Just the other day Fox News reported that a convert to Islam who was fired from his job in Moore, Oklahoma, returned to his former company and beheaded a coworker. His attempt to behead others was stopped by the CEO who legally had a gun.

I mention Fox News because they reported the Islamic angle to this. Meanwhile, the Associated Press reported on the same incident, but conveniently left off the Islamic part. Instead, this beheading is being chalked off as “workplace violence”---despite the links to Islam from the alleged murderer (such as his Facebook postings, e.g., “SHARIA LAW IS COMING!!!!”).

We are ill-served by our officials and the mainstream media these days in their treatment on Islam. We are told that Islam is a religion of peace and that most Muslims just want peace. But where are they? Why are they not marching in the streets against these violent Jihadists?

I once spoke with Christine Brim of the Center for Security Policy. She said, “There are moderate Muslims. We find them silent in most cases; and the reason is that if they speak up, they are identified as blasphemous, and they are under threat of execution. When you are moderate within a totalitarian system, you face two choices: silence or death.”

When the religious motivation (to serve Allah by killing the infidel) is censored out by politicians and the media, then we misread and miscategorize what’s going on---thus, opening the door for more such killings. It was wrong to call the Fort Hood shooting an example of “workplace violence.” The shooter gave ample instances that he was motivated by his interpretation of Islam. He shouted, “Allahu Akbar,” in his attack. He had given out copies of the Koran in advance. His calling card even used the acronym “SOA”---Soldier of Allah.

Political correctness disarms us in advance from protecting the innocent in this ongoing conflict.

Politically correct delusions are dangerous. They can be catastrophic when they are held by Western leaders.

“They are not Muslims. They are murderers.”

This is the stupidity that is being promoted with taxpayer dollars.

Cameron and Obama are not defending us. They are lying to us.

I know for a fact that the above is true...

Most cultures, where faith actually matters, OFTEN have problems with conflicting faiths, religions and beliefs.

In India the Tamils have always been "the raspberry in the tooth" of India. So have the Sikhs. Their problems go WAY back in time.

When Islam spread to India there were countless riots, fires, mutilations and millions of deaths. However, if you saw the movie "Ghandi" you would have seen it in gory detail.
Who was right? Who was wrong? On this site, OF COURSE the Muslims were wrong. However the Indians with brains knew that BOTH sides had right AND wrong on their sides. Naturally neither would give in. Historians interpret historical facts the way they want to.

I have a Pakistani friend whose father was the first non-Muslim Christian, native vicar in his country. He was educated in England so his faith was the Church of England.
Eventually, after both parents passed away, the adult children left there and came here. Their life was good here. Their country's civil war drove them away...not their Anglican faith. India's civil wars were devastating. I wouldn't wish them on anyone, anywhere. Better to "get outta Dodge." Our own Civil War was a lose-lose war. No one won.

My family came here because of the constant and continual warfare in Europe.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

On which day did US Military Commander in Chief B. Hussein Obama effectively stop defending the United States of America?

A. The day after Osama Bin Laden was killed.

B. The day after B. Hussein retreated from Iraq.

C. The day after B. Hussein retreated from his Syrian “Redline” Strategy.

D. The day after B. Hussein admitted that he had no strategy toward the Islamic State.

E. Other (no profanity please).

Religion is what people make it, and the people who made Islam were satanically evil. People can have faith in anything. People who think religions and faiths are all the same on some esoteric level are stupid.

I was once acquainted with and thought I was friends with a Moslem familỵ, well, the men, anyway, that had a dojo next to my shop. We had conversations on breaks in the business and went for coffee and doughnuts a few times, but eventually the only topic of conversation was my conversion and how one day if I did not convert I would have to be killed. The suggestion was never with a hard voice and usually came with a chuckle but did not seem to be at all in fun. Really, they had not seemed to be that sort. After that I kept a gun to hand in my shop and did not encourage visits nor did I visit the dojo. I also dropped plans to let my son get some training in martial arts there.

Yes both sides can be wrong but Islam is always wrong vis-a-vis non Moslems. There will always be strife if there are more than a couple of per cent Moslems in a non moslem society. I admire the Hindus in that they did and do defentd themselves against Moslems. Occasionally they perceive some insult and attack. Usually they retaliate for Moslem murders and burnings. Hindus retaliate effectively and with enthusiasm. Sikhs inside their native area in the subcontinent can be quite intolerant and violent to others. Sikhs in other climes tend to be model citizens and patriotic defenders of the societies they have joined and stay that way.

Obama never intended to defend the United States. His actions in that area were driven by his desire to see the Mighty America humbled and eventually Islamized. All his actions have been designed to maintain his political viability in order to advance that end. There is no cut off date. It originates in his Moslem training in the Moslem school in Indonesia.

You've done quite a bit of generalizing. You sure come out with your white and black hats.
I lived in the middle east for five years (with my husband) so I saw the land, people, faith, lifestyle and politics UP CLOSE. I stopped generalizing about folks after a few months there. It was apparent that stereotyping and generalizing went the way of the dodo with living and working with the Saudis for FIVE long years.
EASY to give opinions on what you are acquainted with only by long distance. It's another opinion by LIVING there.
Oh well. :o)

I was raised in Istanbul. I have kept in contact with Turkish and Moslem issues ever since. In the 50s Americans walked on water as far as the Turks were concerned but Turkey was still very much under the sway of Mustafa Kemal's system. It is arguable whether Ataturk was even a Moslem rather than a modern atheist. His model was Lenin, not Mohammed. It is not so now.
In Arabia the people who work with the Americans are very friendly. These same friends are also supporting the jihadists who would kill you if they got the chance. Your "friends" see nothing wrong with that attitude and would not mourn you. If the situation changed and the Imam said for your friends to kill you they would kill you with no qualms. Read the stories of the Christians and Yazids in Iraq and Syria about their life long close Moslem friends and neighbors, and relatives even in the small professional class. When ISIS came the Moslem friends and relatives took out their knives and enthusiastically cut throats before ISIS was even in full control of the area. No Moslem is the friend of any Christian or other infidel. They can be acquaintances and cooperate but that is only so long as it is to the advantage of Islam and Moslems. It's in the Book. You should read that Book. It is all in there.
90+% of Moslems everywhere live by that book far more closely than 90+% of Christians live by their own Book.

Obama’s father was Muslim, and in Islamic law, he was Muslim by birth. He was educated as Muslim in Indonesia, the most populated Muslim country in the world. Obama don’t know U.S. history or that America has 50 states not 53; but Obama knows very well their prayers, and praised them as the most beautiful sound in the world. He studied the ”holy” Koran and Muhammad teachings, and the obligation of every Muslim to force infidels to choose convertion or death.

America awake
In “Audacity of Hope” he writes: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.” The quote comes from page 261 of the paperback edition of “The Audacity of Hope.

Moderate Muslim is an oxymoron

ISLAM RELIGION OF THE SWORD
At the beginning, when they were a small minority, Mohammed preached respect for other religions condemning forced conversion to Islam; those are the parts of the Koran used by those who falsely proclaim that Islam is a “religion of peace”.

What they fail to disclose is that In Islamic tradition, affirmed by many scholars, there is the doctrine of “abrogation”, which states that later revelation to Mohammed supersedes prior revelations, and the Koranic verses ordering Muslims to fight and slay infidels, Christians and Jews came after those admonishing Muslims to live with non-believers in peace and without religious compulsion.

It is a well known fact the bloody history of Islam, but Obama, and a gutless media, still call it a “religion of peace”, even though that in the name of Allah more than 220 millions infidels have been slaughtered by Muslim, since the prophet of Allah beheaded in 627 AD over 700 hundred men and the pubescent boys and enslaved the women and children. In doing this, he wiped entirely the last remaining major tribe of Jews in Medina: the Qurayza.

In conclusion: You cannot separate “terror” from Islam.

“The issue of “terror” is a further aspect of this same understanding. Many outside Islam seek to separate “terror” and “Islam” as if they were, in their usage, independent or even opposed ideas. This latter view is almost impossible seriously to maintain in the light of Islamic history and the text of the Qur’an itself.”

“The Islamic State and the broader jihadist movements throughout the world that agree with it are, I think, correct in their basic understanding of Islam. Plenty of evidence is found, both in the long history of early Muslim military expansion and in its theoretical interpretation of the Qur’an itself, to conclude that the Islamic State and its sympathizers have it basically right.”

The Hindu Kush, seventy-five thousand square miles between Afghanistan and Pakistan, was populated by Hindus until approximately 1000 AD and the Muslim invasions. An estimated 60 million Hindus were murdered by Muslims over a thousand year reign, and Hindu Kush is the Muslim name for the region. It means “Hindu Killer.”
