May be selective prosecution unless we hear of others with the same problem. Could be some government goon wants to buy the vineyard at a big discount. Don't assume incompetence when evil is more likely.

The same government that can’t locate a single illegal alien working in the US managed to find these lawbreaking fiends.

My dad as a teen learned the automobile repair trade this way, working for free, in the early 1940s. The first place to then use his knowledge was the motor pool at Fort Knox toward the end of WWII.

Made me think about the Tucker car as just one example...

Freaking absurd. This is a violation of their 1st amendment rights, freedom of association. The state should not have the power to tell consenting adults what they can and cannot do on private property. Justifying intrusion into personal behavior by making a “tax claim” is ludicrous. But unfortunately it seems the USSC would allow any intrusion into our personal lives so long as it was a tax issue.

Could they have charged their volunteers a nominal fee and called them students?

Very interesting question. I imagine universities up and down the state should be fined. And high schools that repair cars in shop? And dental schools that work on the indigent? And cosmetology schools?
