The deer population has exploded in a lot of suburban areas. No hunters...

I wonder if all the deer, turkey, black bears, rabbits, squirrels, raccoons, possums, coyotes, chipmunks, etc. etc. etc., I see every day in my part of Virginia know how scarce they are...

I suspect this is from the same types that bring us global warming hysteria.

If an animal is adapted to its environment... you CANT get rid of it no matter how hard you try.

These animals would have gone extinct anyway, humans simply sped up the process that was occurring naturally.

The number of wild animals on Earth has halved in the past 40 years, according to a new analysis. Creatures across land, rivers and the seas are being decimated as humans kill them for food in unsustainable numbers, while polluting or destroying their habitats...

This is in Third World countries. This is not happening in the United States.

They are wrong based on the Pie Chart made by themselves:

37+7+11+13+31=99

They failed math also.

Heck, moose are a real problem in Maine. Car-Moose collisions kill entirely too many people, though state gov't(sensibly, or at least coincidentally) increased the moose hunt and decreased the number of collisions over the past few years.

And then there's this from the local newspaper. No word on if any sisters were bitten.

There was a raccoon “sleeping” on the road beside the golf course for a week or two.

from a Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries publication:

“There may be twice as many deer in Virginia today – nearly 1 million - than when Jamestown was settled (1603). White-tailed deer, nearly extinct in 1900, reproduce quickly and adapt well to human landscapes.”

No hunters, but plenty of gullable suburbanites who treat them like outdoor pets and feed them.

Like people in my neighborhood do. And the deer are getting smart, they actually move through my neighborhood on a schedule, based on when the different neighbors throw out food for them.

One of my neighbors actually had a frustrated deer come up to her back door and stare in at her because she was late with the food.

It’s like the deer are on welfare or something. ;-)

Canyon Lake they are so thick and stupid from inbreeding that you can leave a trail of corn into the garage and stand there with corn in one hand and a hammer in the other.

When they start to eat from your hand just WHACK! them in the head.

Dress them and put in the freezer;)

http://dailycaller.com/2013/07/23/study-feds-underestimated-how-many-birds-get-killed-by-wind-turbines/

A new study found that the federal government underestimated the number of birds that die colliding with wind turbines across the country.

In fact, bird deaths were found to be 30 percent higher than previous estimates given by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 2009.

“I estimated 888,000 bat and 573,000 bird fatalities/year (including 83,000 raptor fatalities) at 51,630 megawatt (MW) of installed wind-energy capacity in the United States in 2012,” writes K. Shawn Smallwood, author of the study that was published in the Wildlife Society Bulletin.

“As wind energy continues to expand, there is urgent need to improve fatality monitoring methods, especially in the implementation of detection trials, which should be more realistically incorporated into routine monitoring,” Smallwood added.

Wind turbines have been a dividing issue among environmental groups, as different priorities are placed on promoting renewable energy to curb global warming versus saving wildlife.
