FRANKFORD, Del. American schools are scrambling to provide services to the large number of children and teenagers who crossed the border alone in recent months.
Officials were caught off guard by about 70 new students mostly from Guatemala part of the wave crossing the border enrolling last year, mostly at Sussex Central High School.
The students are eager but face barriers. Some can barely read or write in their native language.
Donald Hattier, a school board member, said advance warning would have helped with planning. The federal government, he said, "just dropped this on us." He wonders what's next.
"The kids are still coming across the border. This problem has not been solved," Hattier said.

So, resources are taken away from the children of US citizens to accommodate criminals.
The Obama regime could have at least had the common decency to tell the schools that they were getting ready to import a whole ****load full of freeloading commie ‘RAT voters who all are dumber than a box of rocks.
The only help these kids should be getting is help back across the border.
Oh, such non-judgmental wording!
I swoon in the face of such enlightened political correctness!
These ‘kids’ mean big bucks to the ‘Education establishment’. It’s no wonder that these schools are ecstatic at the the thought of getting them and the federal funds they will bring in.
I should have added... No matter what the short term problems these kids mean to the schools in question.
It was bound to happen...
Curses for Disobedience to God
Deuteronomy 28:
43 The foreigners who reside among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower. 44 They will lend to you, but you will not lend to them. They will be the head, but you will be the tail.
The rest of the Curses...

Load them on a bus and dump them in Washington.
Obama’s Justice Dept went to court and won a law suite that the illegals/immigration is the role of the Fed govt not the states.
The illegals are a problem created by the Fed govt and the Fed can’t now turn and dump their problem on the states without the states having some control of the problem.
In a background press briefing at the U.N. last Tuesday, a senior State Department official said Secretary of State John Kerry told his counterparts from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Mexico that the pause in minors coming across our southern border was temporary, and that "we have to use this time to put in place more efforts, greater efforts to get at the root cause of this, because we know that those numbers may rise again."
The next wave may be worse than the first, however, because monsoon conditions, a harsh drought and the globalization of transport are ensuring that the 50,000 or so unscreened new entrants will be bringing a raft of new diseases with them.
Though little reported, the Caribbean is on high alert for the spread of chikungunya, known as "the virus of pain." Its Tanzanian-origin Bantu name means "to contort," describing the agony it leaves in joints for years. Some 183,000 cases were detected in the region this year as it spreads from the same mosquitoes that transmit dengue and yellow fever. Central America, according to a report in El Pais, is the epicenter. Puerto Rico has reported 2,000 cases and three deaths.
But the disease has worked its way up to the U.S.; Texas and Florida reported victims who have already contracted it without traveling to the affected regions. (Excerpt) Read more at news.investors.com ...

NOTEWORTHY: It has been verified that the border-jumpers, emanating from 144 antediluvian disease-ridden countries, are carriers of TB, Ebola,Chikungunya, Dengue fever, Norovirus. Hantavirus, Swine flu, Varicella. Variola, E-coli.......and childhood diseases America stamped out years ago.
The Obama admin has kept secret:
<><> the medical conditions of minors transported to US schools....
<><> the contagion status of contaminated US border-holding facilities....
<><> the contaminated public transportation used to relocate minors.......
<><> dangers to Americans from contaminated illegals handling our food, merchandise....
<><> taxpayers forced to subsidize contagious children in their classrooms....
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported on August 1 that serious diseases are spreading at detention centers for Illegal border crossers.
Health care workers and Border Patrol agents, plus their children, have tested positive for tuberculosis (TB), swine flu, chicken pox, lice and scabies. Instead of being quarantined, illegal border crossers are being dispersed rapidly across the U.S., with those of school age being registered in public schools opening soon for all. NOT TO MENTION E-COLI CONTAGION Central American students have very, very limited education...some cannot count to 10. Theyve never even seen a computer, said assistant director for student support in Dalton, Ga.
Forget computers. Do the stupid leeches know what to do with this (/snix)?
Observing the "unaccompanied minors" riding atop speeding freight trains 1700 miles---one can only conjecture on their personal hygiene. No running water or flush toilets atop that train. How did they handle body wastes? How will they handle this in US schools?
Americans need to know about possible infections from migrants shopping in retail stores, eating in their restaurants, shopping in supermakets...... handling food and merchandise. The deadly E-coli is passed through unclean hands from improper bathroom habits.
E- coli has been found on the handles of supermarket carts. Not to mention contamination on school buses, school facilities, school supplies, books......and public buses that transported them....and so on. Mexican restaurants, fast food hamburger joints, supermarkets, retail stores, etc.....
Not taken away, resources are added....just follow the money and you have your answer here. See, each of these dolts will need an ESL teacher, remedial teacher, subsidized housing, etc. All paid for by the working stiff “citizens”.
I wish it were this simple. The sad truth is, this is an Obama, Democrat, and Republican Open Borders policy.
You don't understand.
These kids are placed without any additional funds. So, the funds available are used for them instead of using them for US kids.
I think it works this way here: the state furnishes funds per student, not whether they are legal or not. Local jurisdictions have a matching formula which I do not know the details about except it has something to do with class size. There is a stipend for non english speaking or those with disabilities. More money equals more “educators” and the concommitant staffs IMO. IOW, the states and the local systems foot the bill for this fiasco so no funding is “taken away” from the legal current students, just a screw job from DC since they provide no money, just orders. Of course this is all without assessing the additional dimunition in the quality of the overall education provided. I resent paying for this crap, I already hate DC, this just makes the hatred more intense.
That says it all
And that is exactly what is happening. Illegals are above the law, while Americans are still required to obey the law. Illegals get jobs and college scholarships ahead of Americans. Most of the jobs in recent years have gone to immigrants. Many of the street beggars I see these days are white guys with American accents.
The only silver lining in this article is in the comments section which is 99% against this travesty.
If I rob a bank, I am NOT a client borrower without deposits, I am a bank robber and a felon.
These are NOT ‘children and teenagers who crossed the border alone’ - they are ILLEGAL immigrants and they should either be put in prison or sent back.
Enough of this crap. If the Democrats need future constituents, they should appeal to voters on issues and NOT import them from Mexico.
More students = More State Money
Education system is one beautiful scam.
