Deer hunters allowed in Pennsylvania woods despite manhunt

EAST STROUDSBURG Pa. (Reuters) - The manhunt for the suspect in the ambush that killed a Pennsylvania trooper and wounded another won't stop the opening of deer-hunting season in the Pocono Mountains, one of most prized spots in the Northeast for game, authorities said on Monday.

Beginning Saturday, bow hunters can enter the deep woods of the region even if the search for the suspect, Eric Frein, is still under way, more than three weeks after the September 12 shooting.

Since then, hundreds of officers, supported by armored vehicles and helicopters, have combed the forests of northeastern Pennsylvania looking for the 31-year-old survivalist.

They know if they tried to stop deer season in PA, this Eric guy would be the least of their problems. Now what are they going to do? Unless he WANTS to stay around, this will provide easy cover for him to move out of the area if he hasn’t already.

I;ve read on some websites that maybe there was a relationship between the perp and one of the victims. The police have been silent about that. Very silent. I don’t trust either side anymore.

So true. I know some guys in VA who have been waiting all year.

They better be patient. The deer have all but disappeared. All but a six point eating corn out by the road.

If Eric has a deer hunter friend, he has the perfect cover to make an escape.

Ain't that the truth. He knows that. He planned it that way. But he also knows the woods better than those who are searching for him. He'll do better in the woods than out of there. I don't condone why he did but I am not sure we know the entire story.

He’s got no beef with hunters. I’m sure he could avoid contact with any hunter he runs across. He’s just set up the cops to have to sift through a ton of armed innocent camouflage. What happens when he takes out a cop during hunting season? Cops will be raiding hunting camps left and right. This will not be pretty if he kills again. I can guarontoldya.

The Pa. deer must be closely related to the California
black tail which are not very big at all. Mule tail are
few and located in very specific areas.

We have some humungous Whitetails here in Northern Ohio. A friend shot one in another friends cornfield. He couldn’t move it, and didn’t what to do next, so he called me. I gutted it out in the field, and it still took both of us to drag it to the barn. We hung it on the barn scale, and, even gutted, it weighed more than 200 pounds! Mark didn’t want the gutz, but I went back out and got the heart and the huge liver. Fresh corn-fed deer liver,,,,,,,AWESOME!

The head of the PSP (Noonan) apparently spends his day looking at anal porn - link.

No wonder they haven't caught the guy yet. Ironically this is the guy that lectured Joe Paterno on his "moral responsibility" 3 years ago.

PA gubbmint is a corrupt cesspool.

In the “old days” it was said there were a million deer hunters in Penn. Not sure if that statement still holds true.

Kane's office said they were releasing the emails in the name of "transparency" and as a warning to other state employees that the bawdy behavior wouldn't be tolerated,

Oh its 'bawdy' behavior, just a little harmless degredation being passed around, boys will be boys. So what is the warning, where are the teeth? We will publish your name with the email, further spreading your porn? Most of these idiots post their lives on Facebook anyway and would revel in the recognition, so what. How far our republic has fallen.

If this was a private corp being investigated by the same gubbmint agency, heads would roll and lawsuits abound.
