I will ask a question that I dread to ask. What happens if we wake up and see 1,600 heads of American military people on the ground, and then we learn that there were 100,000 or MORE ISIS fighters, and that Obama deliberately put out a smaller number!

Well we know what they do with hostages. If I was an American in Baghdad right now I would definitely be exiting asap.

These clowns make Jimmy Carter look like George Patton.

I was thinking General Sherman through Atlanta, but Old Blood & Guts works too.

You can live in a dream until you wake up.Does your church have a militia yet?

...a start would be to have "Onward Christian Soldiers" in the hymnal.

Based on this, it might be time to call a broken arrow and level the place.

At least Patton did not condone rape, pillage, and burning of non-military structures

You think the Saudis are making their nice white robes a little yellowish brown? They know they are next.

And if they get to Basra, Iran is going to come across the border in a big way. This has been my thoughts on this since the start. They WANT Iran to cross the border. That would be the casus belli.

If the Americans run, the Iraqis will bury them in the stampede to any available exits.

Perhaps the best hope would be for a hardened, well-defensible position, heavy air strikes to take out the larger ISIS (used to be Iraqi) weapons, and pray that buys enough time for us to respond with real offensive power. One hesitates to even think about MOAB’s and fuel-air bombs inside Baghdad, but it could come to that.

Some of our FR vets and military experts would have better insight than I...

Sounds like the Vicar is not sure how close they are now. He IS sure what his Iraqi bodyguard will do. Run.

Dire as it appears there ARE strategies and tactics that could stop the fall of Baghdad. HOWEVER. .the orders to carry out such plans must come from the president who has shown repeatedly he hasn’t the will, the understanding nor the courage necessary.

It’s hard to envision a good outcome given the “ leadership” our fellow citizens have chosen.

Will the United States abandon Baghdad in the next hour, embassy and military personal?

Yeah, and what happens to our embassy and military personnel? Now that's personal.
