New York is a fascist State run by politicians who are for all intents and purposes criminals. It's no wonder people (myself included) have been fleeing it for decades.
Has NY ever released the registration/compliance numbers for NY SAFE?
Iirc, after CT’s numbers showed massive noncompliance with their post-Newtown laws, NY quickly classified it’s numbers “Law Enforcement Sensitive” and refused to divulge them.
The issue revolves around how the Constitution is interpreted.
The oathkeepers interpret the constitution the same way that Posse Comitatus groups, Sovereign Citizen groups and other such groups interpret the constitution.
Those numbers don't matter a whit. Those not compliant are now criminals and subject to arrest, fines, confiscations, jail. The State will arrest them when they feel like it and the furor has died down and most people have gotten used to and moved on from the outrage.
As a case in point, have you heard many demands lately for the repeal of ObamaCare, or are people now meekly complying? Or, is this appalling law moving on full steam ahead as people and institutions adapt to it?
If they consider patriot groups - those who want good (very small) government - to be their biggest threat, they must be doing some very bad stuff.

A virtual open-air prison, where government security agents can pat down ordinary citizens at will is the accepted “new normal.” Did that happen often in East Germany, I wonder?
I travel through PBI airport several times each year and my opinion is that they are staffed with the most offensive TSA I have experienced. A year and a half back, I was tapped out for additional screening. The family ahead of me also got the nod, two 30-something parents with their two kids, around 8 and 10 years old. Afterward, as we were sitting on the bench putting on our shoes, I turned to them and said, in a voice loud enough to be overhead by the nearby agents, "So now you know what life was like in East Germany." From the look the parents gave, I doubt if they could have identified East Germany on a map.
As an AF Brat in '50s' West Germany I had occasion to visit the DDR and interact with the VoPos and Grenzers. I don't recall any physical contact but everything else we detest about the TSA was prominent.
I’m sure our conservative State Legislator is thrilled to know he’s a far-right extremist threat to law enforcement.
