President Barack Obama wants everyone to know "how we roll": The US always takes the lead in international crises. In a "60 Minutes" interview Sunday evening, Obama was asked why the US is contributing such a significant portion of the military coalition against the jihadist group known as the Islamic State or ISIS. Obama responded by arguing that other countries were not stepping up. "When trouble comes up anywhere in the world, they don´t call Beijing, they don´t call Moscow. They call us. That isn’t entirely true, North Korea, Cuba, China, and other bad guys call on them.
Too bad Obama knows so little history and has such an antipathy to Winston Churchill. Churchill hated both the Communists and the Nazis. Yet he knew that to defeat Hitler he had to cooperate however distasteful the concept with Stalin. He did what was necessary to win and shorten the war. Obama should understand that Russia loathes ISIS perhaps more than the US. The most effective ISIS jihadists come from Chechnya. Putin would rather they achieve martyrdom in Syria than return to Russia. Obama should follow Churchill’s example and cooperate with Putin to defeat ISIS.
Back in 2003, this scenario was considered very disturbing by the “smart set” ! Oh no, the US is going it alone...why we’re wild reckless cowboys! Impeach Bush! No blood for oil! Remember ? /s;)

I did not see the interview. And I do not in general agree with the Resident. But there is an element of truth in the statement that the US is typically contacted first because we are expected to deliver.

Maybe because as a country, America is naive and gullible? America lets the world’s para cites come to this country, and screws the taxpayers. America is the worlds policeman. It sends it’s children off to die...and expects nothing in return.
The rest of the work expects something in return.
