EARLIER this month, my iPhone vanished.
I looked up its location on an app called Find My Friends that my wife and I use, and I had a shock: The app said my phone was in a house 15 miles away, in a neighborhood that I’d never visited.
I drove there. It was night. The house looked creepy.
My wife stayed in the car, cellphone in hand, ready to summon the cavalry. I walked to the front door and rang the doorbell.
Nothing. The lights were on, so I rang again and knocked hard. I spent five minutes ringing the doorbell and pounding on the door. Finally, a man emerged.
“I think you have my phone,” I explained tautly.
“Your phone?” he asked.
“YOU HAVE MY PHONE!”
“Oh,” he said, “your phone.” He pulled it out, still with my name, email address and office phone number pasted on it, and meekly handed it over.
I left, no questions asked.
Full of myself, I posted about the adventure on social media — and provoked a firestorm. A typical comment on Facebook, from Glenna: “Are you insane?”
Many followers scolded me, while others — particularly those abroad — expressed bewilderment that it should be dangerous to knock on a door and ask for one’s property. Heidi asked: “What kind of society do we live in when knocking on someone’s door to retrieve a lost iPhone becomes perceived as life-threatening?”(continued)

Being a leftie, Kristoff hates the cops, except when he loses his cellphone and craps his pants because somebody, somewhere, might own a gun. What in the hell does this fruit losing his phone have to do with gun control?? If some stranger pounded on my door for 5 minutes at night, I’d call the cops with a gun in my hand.
No, the question is how many of those killings were committed by UNregistered or illegally owned guns.
At least at the end he did say a swimming pool in your yard is more dangerous than a gun in your house.
I think you’re confusing bravery with stupidity and arrogance.
Absolutely no common sense. My iPad disappeared while I was in a store. I filed a report with the police. Meanwhile, I tracked it to a downtown hotel with the find-my-iphone app. No way was I going to retrieve it on my own. I told the police. Whether they scared the perp or not by asking its whereabouts at the hotel, I don't know. But the iPad was anonymously turned in a few days later, in it's case with everything there. I'm not risking my life retrieving a device.

What info does this jackass have on his cell that he did not want the police to have access to while it sat in the evidence locker?

About half are suicides.
According to some stats, almost 3/4, and another substantial chunk are 15-25yo black inner-city males killing non-blacks. And very few if any of the weapons involved are owned legally.
I’ve also read that if you exclude Los Angeles, Chicago, DC, Detroit, and (I think) New Orleans, the number of gun homicides drops to statistically zero (or damn near).

Yeah, a quarter million a year according to the US DOJ, the vast majority with nobody being shot.
I don't think this is a factor. When my iPad was stolen, I used the find-my-iphone app to locate it, notified the police, and the same night I used that app to remotely wipe the contents. Which is what he could have done. The guy is just a reckless fool.
But are you one of the regime’s major propagandists with a cell loaded with contact info, meeting dates, recorded messages ect from a sampling of the biggest leftists on the planet? Probably not.
He is. And that cell was a treasure trove that could link people in ways they’d rather not be made public.
