Listening to the police scanner to get any sort of confirmation of the reports coming out of Ferguson about a cop being shot.

Around here, the thinking ones will tell you it started with busing, back in the 1960s, when the potential leaders were shipped out of the community for education. I wonder how many effective community leaders there are, who have strong positive ties to community groups.
What's cookin' in the Ferguson cauldron has only accelerated our family's drift towards certain conclusions about a particular subset of our "fellow Americans." To put it in faux-Biblical terms, "Slack which was once cut shall be cutteth no longer, and forbearance shown for the sake of perceived past injuries shall cease being shown when such forbearance alloweth evil to be called good."

(CNN) — A police officer patrolling in Ferguson, Missouri, was shot in the arm late Saturday, police said. His wound is not life-threatening, and he was taken to a local hospital.
There’s no reason to believe the shooting was connected with demonstrations over the August police shooting of unarmed African-American teen Michael Brown, authorities said.
“It didn’t happen within the proximity of the protest area,” said St. Louis County Police Chief Col. Jon Belmar. The shooting scene was in a more secluded area.
“I wouldn’t have any reason to believe right now that it was linked in any way, shape, manner or form with the protests,” he said.

Cops are generally good people.
Sure there are going to be some bad apples, and one hopes that the police agencies will weed them out. But it is not appropriate to use the few bad ones to taint the rest. And I might disagree with the heavily armed police units but that discussion should be held in a civil and polite manner.
I think the greater amount of people here on FR support our law enforcement and military. I certainly do. I appreciate their service and what they do for me any my family.
It would not be good if FR became a culture where FR was thought of as police hating. I do think there have been trolls that have been trying to make this happen. So your work to keep track of this is appreciated.

93% of blacks voted in 2012 for a known stone cold racist. I’ll ignore the 08 election. But 2012 should tell everyone that blacks OVERWHELMINGLY are perfectly fine with a President and AG who is getting back at whites via violence and Federal LE intimidation.
To switch someone's vote, there has to be a coherent reason why the alternative will be better, not just different.
I think Romney made a mistake. If he had picked up just 10% or so minority and lower middle class outliers, he would've won, I suspect.
I'll take it down to the Cleveland level. A message about how a Romney presidency would've helped self-employed and small business succeed and grow would've worked.
The rush to report the facts overtook the importance of having the facts years ago.
THIS is where they are. This one is about moderate muslims but it goes for blacks, Christians, gun owners or any other group just trying to keep their heads down and get by.
