Gout has little to do with how much or how luxuriously one eats. That is a myth from the days when it was considered a “rich man’s disease.” It is a heredetary condition caused by the body’s inability to metabolize certain proteins, which causes a buildup of uric acid in the blood (hyperuricemia). It is an extremely painful, crippling malady but can be controlled with relatively inexpensive and safe medications.
I can think of few people I would wish it on, but Chia Junior is one of them.
