Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko Lays Out 'Strategy 2020' for EU Membership

Ukraine president Petro Poroshenko detailed his "strategy 2020" for EU membership consideration Thursday during his first major news conference in the Ukraine since assuming office in May.

Poroshenko urged the European Union to confirm its doors were open, giving details on 60 separate packages of radical reforms to be implemented as soon as November and over the next six years.

Wait till the Ukrainians get their gas bills. Part of the agreement with the IMF is that they soak the people.

They should start rioting again, now that their new President wants to attach them to the sinking ship that is the EU.

Or maybe, since they're a small, poor country, it would be beneficial to Ukraine. Maybe Germans should riot instead; another nation for their economy to carry.

I very much doubt the richer countries of Europe are going to vote to allow in Ukraine, considering its economic trajectory. They already foot the bill for Greece.

Comparing to Ukraine, Turkey is an economic giant, a stable non-corrupt transparent Republic housing a responsible society. Despite that little fact they had their “plan 1965”, “plan 1980”, “1995”, “2000” and so on but they are somehow still not a part of Europe. Tantal, water and fruits comes to mind. I think for relative realism Candyman has to issue a “plan 2114”.
