Eric Holder To Step Down As Attorney General
NPR ^ | 09/25/2014 | Carrie Johnson

Posted on 09/25/2014 7:51:25 AM PDT by Pyro7480

Eric Holder Jr., the nation's first black U.S. attorney general, is preparing to announce his resignation Thursday after a tumultuous tenure marked by civil rights advances, national security threats, reforms to the criminal justice system and five and a half years of fights with Republicans in Congress.

Two sources familiar with the decision tell NPR that Holder, 63, intends to leave the Justice Department as soon as his successor is confirmed, a process that could run through 2014 and even into next year. A former U.S. government official says Holder has been increasingly "adamant" about his desire to leave soon for fear he otherwise could be locked in to stay for much of the rest of President Obama's second term.

Hundreds of employees waited in lines, stacked three rows deep, in early February 2009 to witness his return to the Justice Department, where he previously worked as a young corruption prosecutor and as deputy attorney general — the second in command — during the Clinton administration.

There, fixed it.

If the GOP takes the Senate, the confirmation process could be complicated and thwart Obama's nominee. The timing will depend on the midterms.

"Could" being the operable word. Do you REALLY believe that the same GOPe that has bent over and grabbed its ankles for six years of Obama will suddenly take action to oppose him?

Isn’t it time for felons and traitors to be represented on the court?

My money says RBG will step down and become a judge at the world court since she’s in favor of international law ruling everything.

Stepping down?

The bastard should be stepping up on the gallows.

Yes, if it has an impact on the 2016 race. My greatest fear is that the Reps will pass an immigration reform bill in the lame duck session.

These people are nothing more than interchangeable clones whose sole job is to do what obama orders them to do, take the heat instead of obama, and then resign once they’ve been used up and have become a target for Congressional investigation.

Obama will just appoint Holder II, who’ll arrive with a clean slate. (see: Sebilius)

Lather, rinse, repeat ...

And, to prove they’re not racist, enough Republicans vote ‘Yes’ to confirm him!

There is enough dirt on Holder, including an outstanding contempt citation, that Republicans could vote against him without worrying about the racism charge.

Of course the Democrats will still play the racism card, it is just that anyone who buys it would not ever vote for a Republican anyway.

The problem is that Reid could push through a Holder Supreme Court confirmation before the end of the year without a single Republican vote. Because of the current 55/45 split in the Senate, Reid could lose up to five Democrat votes and still push it through (it would be a 50/50 tie with Biden casting the deciding vote).

By setting the vote to occur after the November election, none of the Democrat Senators who are currently in trouble would have to vote against Holder's confirmation.

I think this is a very realistic scenario. It is all up to Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg at this point. If she announces her retirement this month, then it is a certainty.

I went from joy to dread in the time it took me to read your post.

God help us all if that becomes reality.

As did I.

We need to storm Washington, calling, marching, anything we can do, to fight that. He is practically anti-legal and has acted as an enemy of peace and freedom in this country. If he looked paler no one would support him.

“From his {Holder} misbehavior in everything from the New Black Panther voter-intimidation case to Operation Fast and Furious to the IRS targeting scandal, Mr. Holder has shown the public why he is the first and only attorney general in our history to be held in contempt by the House of Representatives.

As a longtime, current employee of the Justice Department told us, Mr. Holder and his subordinates have “racialized and radicalized” the department “to the point of corruption.” They have “embedded politically leftist extremists in the career ranks who have an agenda that does not comport with equal protection or the rule of law; who believe that the ends justify the means; and who behave unprofessionally and unethically.”

Holder’s first crime was canceling the investigation of Kevin Johnson, Obama supporter and mayor of Sacramento and firing the investigator. He should have been impeached then and the rest of these crimes might have been prevented.
