We’re never allowed even for 1 Congressional Session to really drill down and address these problems, it’s just one idiot “Squrriel!” after another; meanwhile, officials have their helicopters warmed up, nice secluded provisioned bunkers ready and looted billions stashed away and they clearly have zero interest in doing the work they were presumably sent to DC to do. Maybe it’s just too big to tackle, at this point.
The whole thing scares and depresses me like I’ve never felt before in my 58 years.
I’m beginning to take Dennis Miller’s attitude: just get ready and “brace for impact”. Even politics, which I previously found fascinating bores me. I continue to dutifully attend local Tea Party meetings but my heart’s not in it any more -I feel like I should always be somewhere else, doing more to prepare myself and my husband so we can have a semi-fun and productive life as chaos emerges.
OK, done with my rant. And no, I don’t feel better.
I wasn’t particularly bothered by this, because I expect no better of this feckless buffoon. What got under my craw was his having the Marine hold the umbrella for him. That was more of a direct act of humiliation.

Do a google search. You will find all manner of pictures with other Presidents, both Republican and Democrat, having umbrellas held for them by uniformed service members. Obama is by no means unique in this regard.
I can also produce pics of previous presidents, such as both Bushes and Reagan holding their own umbrellas. It’s in the context of an overall disdain Obama has for this country’s military.
Look, there are a billion things to hate about Obama. Look it up. Lots of pictures of Obama holding umbrellas. Or a military member holding an umbrella for him. Same as every other President.
