“Unless,” the neurosurgeon and conservative activist adds in a caveat during his interview with Hugh Hewitt, “the American people indicate in November that they like big government intervention in every part of their lives.” What are the odds of that happening? Bernie Sanders isn’t running for re-election to the Senate, and neither is Harry Reid, who looks more likely than not to become the Minority Leader in January. So yeah, Ben Carson is running for President, QED:
Is this to be taken seriously? This interview was significant enough for Politico to pick it up today. Kendall Breitman offered a few quotes from the interview, adding only a mention that Carson finished sixth in the CPAC straw poll this year.
Here is Carson’s response on the 2016 question:
HH: Now I know you like debating. And so the question arises. Will we be seeing you on the presidential debate circuit next year that will begin, that the Republicans are organizing for those who want the nomination of the party?
BC: I think the chances are reasonably good of that happening. Im waiting, you know, obviously, for a few more months. I want to make sure that its clearly something my fellow Americans want me to do. And Im also waiting to see what the results are in November, because if the people indicate that they truly do want a nation that is for, of and by the people, then I, along with I hope many other people, would be willing to give it everything we possibly have.

I thought the state controlled, liberal “media” had already chosen Romney/Christie as the GOP ticket.
I’ve seen more than a few vehicles in th DC area with ‘Carson 2016’ bumper stickers. My favorite is, “America needs a doctor STAT”
Is this the candidate who has come across as being anti-Second Amendment?
Dr. Ben Carson....Paging Dr. Ben Carson.......you are wanted in the WH.....STAT.................(OKAY, who knows where that comes from?)...............
Good
He is pro-amnesty also. No thanks.
That is my understanding as well.
How about Surgeon General?
.
I like Ben Carson. But...with all due respect, this man has absolutely zero chance of winning the nomination.
He has every right to run, but he is on a fool’s errand.
I’m good with that. Gotta find out what his stance is on all the issues, but heck, he’s good in my book to start.
Cruz/Carson
Cruz/Gowdy
Cruz/Jindal
Cruz/Lee
Cruz/Paul
or any order of the above.
Cruz/Lee
Yes sir!
.
Good; he’ll force issues to be discussed that otherwise would be ignored; he won’t win but it will be useful.
He believes your rights depend on geography. If you live in the country, semi-auto is OK. If you live in the city, not so much.
Ben endorsed the current Republican Senate candidate in Oregon. She is now running ads showing her gay marraige endorsers. Pure Rino. Sorry Ben, you lost my vote.
Only issue with this ticket, we’d lose two very powerful conservatives out of the senate.
In any other year I would say this is a terrible idea but in 2014, the era of Obama..I say, what the hell. can’t get any worse.
I’m attending a charity dinner Saturday night, at which Dr. Carson is the keynote speaker. I’m looking forward to hearing him speak.
There is sentiment out there for a black President who can “do it right” this time. The Americans of African descent were used most dreadfully badly by the Current Occupant, with whom few of them really have much in common.
The Current Occupant has been bound by two foreign ideologies, both the internationalist vision of Soviet-style communistic rule, and the hierarchy of the Islamic State, for which he seems to have an inordinate amount of fascination. Both are highly structured societies, with little mobility upward, but a great deal of downward mobility, expressed in a militant attitude toward any kind of dissident behavior that is not in accordance with the “norms” of that society. No apostasy is allowed in either, and the whims of the top hierarchy may by visited upon the lower strata without fear of retribution, except perhaps by a peer in the same or slightly higher level of the hierarchy. The masses are kept cowed in a lockstep of fear and rather draconian enforcement of the rules for even minor infractions.
Sorry, I really have great difficulty in contrasting Soviet-style worship of a “strong man”, in a secular sense, and the Islamic Republic or Caliphate which also reveres a “strong man”, only they use the trappings of a religion to further reinforce this image.

VERY interesting that you’re seeing them in DC!
