Wisconsin voters can't get IDs, liberal group says

Wisconsin offices that issue driver's licenses aren't open enough hours to issue photo IDs to all the voters who need them before the Nov. 4 election, a liberal group told federal judges in a brief filed Monday.

Wisconsin's 2011 law requires voters to show a government-issued ID with a photo to vote. Because of legal challenges, the requirement had not been enforced since the February 2012 primary. But a three-judge panel of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago said Sept. 12 that the law could be used for the Nov. 4 election and other elections while it considers the merits of arguments against the law.

Two civil rights groups asked the entire appeals court last week to reconsider that decision.

One Wisconsin Institute told the court Monday that a significant difference between the Wisconsin case and one involving Indiana's photo ID law was voters' ability to actually get IDs. The U.S. Supreme Court found Indiana's law acceptable.

That’s because the ones they want to get IDs are typical liberal voters. In other words, they are dead.

They have plenty of time to get IDs. If they want to vote, they will get one.

So they aren’t able to get their welfare payments or write checks in WI because they have no ID. No one believes this.

It will make it harder to “find” those “lost” votes in a close election in a church basement or an “innocent poll worker’s” trunk who just happened to remember “misplacing” them in a close election.

You cut off that welfare check and they would be there in a nano-second.

“Getting your drivers license is no big deal, just show up at the examiners office, your welfare checks will be waiting there”.

Why? Because they can’t get time off from their jobs? Sure.

Wisconsin’s 2011 law requires voters to show a government-issued ID with a photo to vote.

3 years and they can’t get an ID. That should disqualify them right off the bat for being habitual procrastinators.

No one believes this.

Liberals will believe anything that advances their agenda.

They want people to show up at their residence to take the picture, so they don’t have to miss a minute of Oprah or The Price is Right.

If they are too inept to get an id, they are obviously to inept to vote.

If you have procrastinated getting a photo ID until now, then don’t complain that you are denied the right to vote; you can wait until the next election if you want to vote; by that time you will have had sufficient time to get ID or you will be denied voting rights again.
I think it’s that simple.

this is just more liberal crap. come now how many days do you need to get a picture id, Drivers or state identification at the Wis Dot offices is available basicall all day and evenings too. What the republican are to take them to the DOT offices now so they can get an ID. When I lived in Wisconsin getting my drivers license was no problem, id was produced the same day. Now that I live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula the ID picture is taken a temporary ID with no picture is given to you and the drivers with photo is sent to you within two weeks. Also in Michigan you can register to vote when you get your drivers license, you can also get a identification on your license plate sticker for the entrance fees paid to all state parks.

You mean to tell me that Wisconsin is so backwards that it is still stuck in the stone ages whereby the ID has to be carved and you need a wheelbarrow to haul it around. So my undergraduate degree from a Wisconsin State University System Granting Institution took multiple stone masons to crave to do that too.

keep in mind this post is geared to the liberal stupidity that they are trying to suggest.

Never underestimate the ability of a liberal to deny reality and attempt to change the rules to do so.

On the main page for DOT - http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/, there’s a HUGE button marked “ID for voting” that goes to http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/drivers/drivers/apply/petition-process.htm. Additionally, two offices in Milwaukee are now open 8-12:30 on Saturday, in addition to their usual hours. Of course, DOT made the papers last Thursday, because the network was down for DMV applications for most of the day. FYI, the estimate for DOT is that 6,000 people PER DAY will be applying for the free voter ID card. Following the passage of the law in 2011, DMV opened stations in EVERY county in the state-there are 72 counties. More populous counties have multiple DMV offices. No one should have to go farther than their county of residence to get an ID.
