Another NFL sponsor is distancing itself from the league amid an ongoing domestic violence controversy.

Procter & Gamble, one of the NFL's major sponsors, pulled out of the league's breast cancer awareness campaign Friday.

The company's Crest toothpaste had been slated to sponsor the program. Procter & Gamble said it will still make the $100,000 donation to the American Cancer Society as planned.

"Is there anybody who isn't aware of breast cancer?"

....my sister, a breast cancer survivor.

Have you ever noticed that the FDA approves drugs and a few weeks later the attorneys all show up on TV ready to sue over the latest FDA approved drug? LOL

I can understand the legal stuff.

But he kept talking about transparency, but avoided transparency.
That is my point.

Good. Maybe the NFL will stop with PC crap.

Exactly. The boys at the NFL need to learn that the commie 'RATS are not their friends. The DemocRATS are destroyers, not builders.

Good. The NFL is a disaster. Hit the pocketbook. Object lessons are wondrous.

Yep...there is just way too much money in the NFL now...bigtime college football is rapidly following suit.

My son (a recent LSU grad) told me that they just had a raffle for a motorhome parking spot within decent distance to Tiger Stadium. It was huge because in order to pay thousands to park your custom $150K+ motorhome close, you usually have to be on a very long waiting list...or inherit the privilege.

I love football as a sport, but sometimes...I just don't know. I guess I yearn for the days when some guys would get together and buy an old school bus - take out some seats so there is room for a keg and a grille, have some beers and paint it up before the season.

“Procter & Gamble...pulled out of the league’s breast cancer awareness campaign Friday.”

Another front launched in the War on Women. Why does Procter & Gamble hate women?

In that one specific way, baseball and hockey probably benefit from not having a super popular farm system. Much easier to weed out jerks before they make it to the big show, not that they still don’t get some for sure. Also easier to bench or suspend when you play so many more games.

Two things.

(1) Key word is "former." Sharper hasn't played football since 2010.

(2) Local and state law enforcement are already handling this.

How is the NFL to blame?

Good. Maybe the NFL will stop with PC crap.

I have posted similar in other threads.

AND, I hope the Fox channels drop that silly 'stand up to cancer' thing, like standing up is going to accomplish anything.

It is bad enough to have to listen to the various commentators insert social engineering discussions during sports venues.

Then, maybe NBC will drop their green week (or is it a month?).

Goddell needs to step down.....like yesterday.

absolutely NOT...these players do not work for the NFL, they work for individual teams who should be handling this whole thing...Th president of general motors does not resign because the parts manager of a Chevy dealership abuses his wife.

Abortion wasn’t enough to make them pull out of the pink ribbon deal. Some violence is more acceptable than other I guess.

LOL! That was one of the stupidest thing I’d ever seen on a sports cast. In fact, every stupid sports cast I’ve ever seen has been put on by NBC.

Agree.

How about how the makers of generics have been exempted from product liability (even though it isn’t exactly the name brand med) and insurance companies force policy holders to go generic?

I stopped watching ALL NFL games when they let Michael Vick play again. Disgusting organization.

yup, that'll fix them....by the way, Michael Vick didn't work for the NFL...but you hold your position...never watch a professional football game on T.V. again. I assume that you were not a season ticket holder.....thought so!!

CNN misspelled the name of the company.

It is “Proctor and Gamble.”
