Army chief: More ground troops headed to Iraq
The Hill ^ | Sept 18, 2014 | Kristina Wong

Army chief of staff Gen. Raymond Odierno said Friday that more U.S. ground troops would likely deploy to Iraq to train local forces fighting Islamic militants.

"We are going to increase a little bit," he said. "As we do that, I think we have to do an assessment of how well that's going."

The military is contradicting Obama. Obama doesn't want to "surge" because he knows that would be an admission that he mistakenly pulled troops from Iraq.

The general implies that ISIS is going to embed among civilians so airstrikes will not work. Obama's strategy of airstrikes alone will end up kill civilians. The irony is that Obama will end up facing the same criticism Israel endured a few weeks ago. The army gets it.

Obama's in a box.

Obama cannot wage war AND appease his anti-war base. Kinda a dangerous situation and he should be impeached if he fails to protect the Unitied States.

Amazing that he has to make these decisions weeks before a key mid term election. Seems like providence is finally intervening.

Maura Liason, the big NPR Lib on the Fox panel, predicted that slowly ground troops will be ratcheted up to what they would have been had Obama signed a SOFA.

They know.

It ought to be easy for ground troops to root out ISIS because I can’t imagine too many civilians who are willing to hide ISIS fighters.

When ISIS had still been in a column in the desert, after just a day of getting to Mosul, that was when to act. He could've switched sides and sided with Assad and destroyed the ISIS cancer US policy created.

I suspect the anti-war crowd would've supported offing the genocidal maniacs created by US foreign policy of regime change because at that point it would've been an admission that the war mongering was a mistake.

Now, the only sane way out would be to work to stabilize govs we've destabilized, like the Egyptian military did on their own. Obama isn't going to that, because he's as much of a globalist tool as GWB was.

No no, you must be mistaken. We won’t have boots on the ground. Oblala says so.

Actually, he should have acted when they took Fallujah in January.

Frankly, this seems more like an opportunity to get rid of America’s “Special Forces” - our best and brightest - or at least to “degrade and destroy” as many as possible.

I do not think this is coincidental ..!!!!!!!

This admin (and many other dems) have never had any respect for our military; in fact, I truly believe this admin loathes them - and/or he’s terrified of their power .. and how “the people” admire them.

My other concern is our military will be drawn into Syria .. and Isaiah 17:1 says, “Woe to Damascus. It has been taken away from being a city, it has become a ruinous heap.”

The only thing that would do that is a limited nuke. This was prophesied in 1985 but it seems to be getting closer and closer. Why on God’s green earth would we want to send our military there ..??????????????????????

Question: How much more vulnerable would America be if most of our Special Forces were destroyed ..??????????????????

Sunnis among Sunnis, none of whom like Americans much, and some of whom have automatic weapons with which to threaten the rest. I can imagine it very easily. Happened all over Viet Nam for years.
