About 2am the Friday before Labor Day she fell out of bed, and didn’t call me til almost 6....between the two of us we finally got her back on the bed, but it took a toll on both of us. I got a bed rail on the way home from work.

Then this past Wednesday I got a call at work...any call on Wednesday can only be bad. She slipped in the bathroom and fell (as I was leaving for work at 7:30a)...the call was at almost 10. She had to scooch out of the bathroom across her bedroom, pull the phone off the headboard, and call. One of my co-workers came home with me and we got her up. Finally got her settled in the living room with tv, food, and drink. I spent all evening making lists of appointments, equipment, assessments that I needed “yesterday”, and just checking on her.

Her mobility is not good and this didn’t help at all. By the time I got home Thursday night, she said her knees were not working at all. We managed and I’m taking her to the doctor today....another problem....find a doctor that takes Medicare. The earliest I can get her in is October 30th. She called the nurse of an old family doctor...his group doesn’t take Medicare anymore and she hasn’t been for so long she’s considered a new patient, but he will see her today for the fall.

Ordered Medical Guardian for the hang on your neck push button thingy, cleaning people coming next Friday, home care folks called for early next week. This mobility issue is HUGE! One day at a time trying to figure out what to do. My sister is called every couple hours from California.

Now you are up to date. Between work and home, I’m tired.

Prayers headed your way, MA.
Very sorry to hear about the Medicare situation. That just isn’t right.

So far, the lake came up over a foot. We need some really heavy runoff rain now, since the ground is wet.

Wishing that runoff all finds the lake. Hope it keeps raining, too!!

“I Can Hear Your Heartbeat” by Chris Rea

In the silence of the side street
In the whisper of the night
From the darkness of the empty hours
To the early morning light
From the hustle down on main street
With all it’s lights so bright
To the trucker on the highway
Pressing through the night

I can hear you heartbeat
I can hear you heartbeat
Girl, the sound of you is so sweet

Poor Mom,Thank God she didn't break any bones.End of Oct for an appointment is ridiculous. My husband's old insurance was the same way and the only way to work that system was to walk in and cry at the top of your lungs.
