HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — A Texas woman convicted of the starvation and torture death of her girlfriend's 9-year-old son a decade ago was executed Wednesday evening.
Paramedics who found him dead said they were shocked to learn his age. He weighed 36 pounds, about half that of a normal 9-year-old. A pediatrician later would testify that he had more than 250 distinct injuries, including burns from cigarettes or cigars and scars from ligatures, and that a lack of food made him stop growing.
"There was not an inch on his body that not been bruised or scarred or injured," said Dixie Bersano, one of Coleman's trial prosecutors.
Coleman's trial attorneys said the boy's death at the apartment in Arlington was an accident. They said he may have had mental health issues that made him difficult to handle and Coleman and Williams didn't know how to deal with him in a positive manner.

I adopted a cat once because someone moved out and left him. I ended up with two cats. This male cat found a kitten and became it's protector. We observed that the older male cat would jump in the dumpster and get food for the kitten. So A tom cat has more sense.
6 years later we still have both cats. The older cat now feels he has to protect the "kitten" who is bigger than the older cat from our puppy.

Texas wasted a decade...should have killed her as soon as she was convicted.
I was surprised to see it was a black woman. I’ve seen MANY white trash women abuse their kids in my time on this earth but I can’t recall ever seeing a black woman do it.
Good riddance and I don’t think God “saves” and “forgives” human vermin like this. There must be a line and she definitely crossed it.
The things she did are, objectively-speaking, damnable and fully hell-worthy. But only God knows the state of her soul, and only God knows whether she could be redeemed and purified and enter Heaven among the penitents.
Her sins are horrible and repulsive but His mercy is infinite --- IF she could say in her heart, "Lord Jesus, I am a wretched sinner. Have mercy on me."
I respect your “faith” but if I were around and God would listen to me for a moment I would advise him that in all human history this woman was THE WORST!

I went back and read the article again, the childs mother will be in jail until 2044. Not long enough in MHO. I would like for them to lock her up and forget to feed her.

the row” she loved them. Her last words were, “I’m done.”

Sorry, but there is no such thing in humans as “maternal instinct”. In fact, humans are the only creatures on this planet totally devoid of instincts. There is nor biological clock or change in season that dictates out behavior. We must learn everything, even child-raising. And after reading about these despicable women it seems apparent that the lessons didn’t take on these animals...
Not entirely correct. Some bird species assess how much food is in their area and will starve and evict the weaker-looking chicks so that the stronger-looking ones have a better chance of survival. That is why you will see chicks in the nest beg incessantly for food from the very beginning because the chick willing to step over their sibling for more food is perceived as the stronger and healthier one so they are often rewarded with more food while the bullied chick gets less.
Survival of the fittest. In the wild, it is the law of the jungle.
Not that this has anything to do with these horrible parents. What they did is unspeakable evil.
