'Extremely dangerous' survivalist named suspect in Pennsylvania state trooper ambush

The suspect in the killing of a trooper and the critical wounding of another outside a rural barracks is a survivalist...

Eric Matthew Frein, 31, of Canadensis, Pa., is still armed with the .308-caliber rifle that he used to open fire on the barracks late Friday, State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan said at a news conference where he revealed the suspect's name.

Noonan called Frein "extremely dangerous."

I used to have a summer home not far from there. Do not think this is a slam dunk. More drugs, meth, and weed are trafficked and grown thru that area than your wildest imagination. There are hundreds if not thousands of families in that region with Eric Mathew Freins. I would want him to continue to survive to trial.

Most guys that claim to be survivalist are full of shiite. Very few are actually proficient at living off the grid in a hostile evading type mode. Even then they are good at picking berries and finding food. I doubt this turd can engage in a sustained evade and firefight scenario with people who have been trained to go after him. Ex-special forces operatives that are police officers etc...

I used to fly my plane from Philadelphia to Cherry Ridge Airport every weekend. The planes that operated in the area were not representive of the official local economy, it's people, or it's appeal. There were a lot of really run-out light twins there. Commanders, Commanche's, 310's. The kind of planes one could afford to lose.

I also knew not to ask many questions. I kept a spare vehicle there for the ride to and from our home and the airport. It was about a 15 minute drive.

When I applied for S.S. at 62, they wanted to see my DD214, I searched high and low and couldn't find it. Eventually I sent for a new one. If you're a vet and nearing S.S. age, I suggest you start looking for yours.
