The suspect in the killing of a trooper and the critical wounding of another outside a rural barracks is a survivalist...

Eric Matthew Frein, 31, of Canadensis, Pa., is still armed with the .308-caliber rifle that he used to open fire on the barracks late Friday, State Police Commissioner Frank Noonan said at a news conference where he revealed the suspect's name.

Noonan called Frein "extremely dangerous."

What error? Those troopers are out for blood...they’ll state they had him cornered and he refused to stop pointing his gun at them thus prompting them to pump 200 rounds into him....all into his back!

“Is there a gun control vote coming up?”

All those far-left buggers must be drawing from the deck with 52 queens of diamonds again.

IMHO

"No, the casings at the scene match those in the jeep and those at the man’s home. Not a frame..."

Yeah, right, sure, Uh Huh...

There are too many cases of guys sitting on Death Row who are walking out of jail after DNA tests have proven they were entirely innocent. The System is broken. Remember the Duke lacrosse team?

I'd point out hundreds of other cases, but JBTs are as close-minded as Liberals...

This guy is a dead man walking. The Goons are going to execute him, and will lie to cover up the murder. They have a Target.

Agree.

People get confused between “preponderance of evidence” and “beyond a reasonable doubt”. One for civil proceedings, the other criminal.

I find it odd that Oswald was buried 24 hours after Ruby shot him. But, of course, he really was guilty, no need for a trial, right?

That kind of conspiracy theory is a bit silly in this case. The Duke lacrosse team was a victim of a prosecutor who was running for election and pandering to a leftwing university community to support a popular type of liberal victim. It isn’t remotely similar to this case.

If your brother were murdered, would you want to kill just anyone right away to say you “solved it”, or would you actually be a teeny bit interested in finding the real murderer? These troopers aren’t running for office or pandering to a political group, they are trying to find the man shooting at, wounding and killing them. They WANT the RIGHT guy.

If my brother were murdered it would be a conflict of interest for me to be on the team chasing suspects.

Under our legal system, this man is a suspect, he is guaranteed by our laws his day in court to face charges against him.

Lynch mobs went out with the KKK but some folks appear to want to bring them back.

The only evidence they have right now is circumstantial evidence. If they have given up looking for other possible suspects, they are not doing their jobs.

The PSP has already decided guilt, and issued the verdict to the media.

I'm going to make a prediction here. This guy Frein is not going to make to a court.

it bothers me that people say its non-reloadable.

It is reloadable given enough investment.

Have you ever tried it?

You can buy loaded rounds for what it takes in time and labor to re-prime that stuff. Plus the decapping is maybe 60% successful once you get the hang of it.

You can also re-swage the fired rounds and insert the cores in new gilding metal if you want to go that far, there is tooling to make new jackets from copper cups.

Some things are not practical and impossible from an economic standpoint.

That there are no commercial operations that mess with berdan primed brass should be a tell.

Pocono Township cruiser crashes as police rush to scene of manhunt

September 19, 2014

http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20140919/NEWS/409190319

I haven't been impressed by this manhunt. The police got shot at once. Then shot at again a half hour later when they set up their response. Both times he got away. 4 days in they had no idea who it was and couldn't find anything with 200 men. It took a private citizen to find the Jeep while walking the dog. Now 7 days in they have "no idea" where he is.

Barrett Township police put out this statement around 11 p.m. Thursday:

"All roads are now open in Barrett Township again. The suspect still has not be caught and PSP advised me they would be doing another press release shortly, if they haven’t already. I’d just like get it out to the community to remain alert and vigilant and notify 911 if they see anything suspicious. It would be GREATLY appreciated if you could also mention to the public that police are asking the community to please refrain from shooting guns outside until Eric Frein has been apprehended."

Eric Rudolph redux?

Or, it could be a serious case of the LOM. Lack Of Motivation in going after a guy who knows the terrain, has a modicum of woodcraft skills and knows how to shoot. Not exactly a cop's dream arrest.

No news to report. Reward increased to $175,000.

State Police do not plan to conduct a scheduled briefing on the search for the suspected gunman who shot and killed one State Trooper and wounded another nearly one week ago. They say Eric Frein remains at large and hundreds of law enforcement officers continue to comb the heavily wooded areas of Pike and, in some cases, neighboring counties. Lt. Col. George Bivens said investigators don't believe there is a direct threat to the public, however, "I do believe he's probably desperate. It's been cold at night. He's trying to survive out there, and I'm sure that creates difficult circumstances for him live in. With that said, there's no reason to believe his fight has changed, so the focus of his fight is still with law enforcement."
