Major networks strangely silent on polls about Obama

A conservative media watchdog says major news networks appear to be going out of their way to bury the news of President Obama's collapsing poll numbers.

During the midterm election cycle of 2006, ABC, CBS and NBC reported regularly about President George W. Bush's low numbers in public opinion polls. But the Media Research Center says during the current midterm cycle, the networks don’t seem to be as interested in reporting similar poll results about Barack Obama's performance.

According to an MRC study, all three of the big news networks have mentioned public opinion surveys related to Obama just nine times in 2014 - almost 14 times less than the 124 times they mentioned Bush's low public support during the same phase of his presidency in 2006.

Rich Noyes, director of research at MRC, thinks the networks are keeping quiet about the discouraging poll results as a way to protect Democratic congressional candidates for this year’s November elections.

“When news networks talk about these polls over and over and over again, it casts the image of a failed president,” Noyes tells OneNewsNow. “Well, why is the president a failure? Look at ObamaCare. Look at the economy. Look at foreign policy. If this becomes the drumbeat in conversations about politics in the months leading up to the election, that would create a very hostile environment for Democratic candidates."

Noyes says the way things are currently lining up it looks like it could be a bad year for Democrats, despite efforts of the mainstream media.

"They've had a long time to figure out a way to salvage the situation for the Democratic Party,” he says. “And so far they seem to be in a bigger mess than ever."

“...almost 14 times less ...”

This vexes me. I would much prefer to see “almost 1/14th as much.”

Just add it to the list of things that vex me.

It’s called the black mute doctrine. Obama could walk onto the set of Monday Night Football, shoot the broadcasters on live television and beat Ray Rices wife with a golf club, on live television and nobody would say a thing. They might even compliment his improved swing?!

He didn’t realize he was actually going to have to do work rather than “keep it chill” all of the time. Well, we know he doesn’t do anything.

“Strangely?” I’d say it’s not strange at all. They got him elected. They still support him. Why would they undermine him?

If you want to find out what’s happening in America, you need to read the British press.

Now I know how the average Soviet citizen felt in 1980. But the average Soviet learned to read between the lines and get to the truth, and even Pravda wrote in a way that was “code” that told the truth if the Soviet citizen could read it.

The average American LIV just lets the media pour crap into their heads.

Weird how you don’t see any polls about how excited and in a rush Americans are for the Fools on the Hill to pass so-called, “immigration reform” either. I wonder why. I guess the “media” clowns doing the polls aren’t getting the results they want.

I have a solution. American media moguls including owners, copy editors, opinion piece writers, and on-air spokespeople need to form a large fact-finding group, charter some flights to the Sunni triangle with all their gear, and ask ISIS why they hate us.

Spell “Journalism.”

j...o...u...r...n...a...l...i...s...m

You forgot the “f”

There’s no “f” in “journalism.”

Exactly.
