By Virtue of Their Silence

Posted on 09/16/2014 5:10:19 AM PDT by Jacquerie

As the November elections approach, we’ve heard nothing but deafening silence from the GOP as to why the electorate should put Congress in its hands.

Now, I have nothing against the ages-old stratagem of not interrupting an enemy in the process of making enormous mistakes. But, we’re not simply considering a ‘my team good’ vs. ‘their team bad’ situation, as if the outcome was nothing more than a sporting event to be remembered until the next big game.

Some fundamental American freedoms have been under assault for decades, and Obama and his party have accelerated the trend. Where is the pushback, the resistance to galloping tyranny? It isn’t to be found among GOP elders.

Consider this partial list of recent assaults on civil society and freedom:

Court imposed homosexual marriage.
Congress may force you to purchase a product.
Open borders, and a Presidential alliance with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Scotus and the President may rewrite laws as they see fit.
Anti-republican government indoctrination of young minds through Common Core.

Perhaps deep in their souls, the GOPE despise these open assaults on republican freedom. Yet from their silence, and for all practical purposes they signal support rather than opposition.

Take one example. Obamacare. In its five years, it has never polled majority support. Its heinous provisions are routinely delayed, modified to the point that no one can be sure what this jello-statute is. Obamacare is the easiest awful law in American history to oppose and repeal. If the GOP cannot run their congressional campaigns in part on excising this virus, can we ever expect them to repeal less onerous laws and diktats?

By virtue of their silence, the GOP signals its support for continued erosion and eventual destruction of the American Republic. “Vote for me because I’m not him,” won’t cut it.

ROMNEY imposed homosexual marriage.

ROMNEY created RomneyCARE/ObamCAER to
force you to purchase a product.

The GOP has led Open borders,
and has defended Obola’s lack of documentation.

The GOP — starting with Dictator Romney —
is the enemy of freedom and America.

Well said and right on. If the Establishment RINOs won’t field conservative candidates, then the Tea Party has to. And if it costs a few seats, better that than continuing to elect traitors who will vote with America’s enemies anyway.

Not one dime’s worth of difference. They’ll be thrown out when they do nothing.

“As the November elections approach, we’ve heard nothing but deafening silence from the GOP as to why the electorate should put Congress in its hands.”

Because if you don’t you will end up with a fascist country under continuous Dem rule. And a dictatorship of the left. That’s why. Oh, and by the way, if the Pubs don’t take the Senate, there will be more liberal SCOTUS appointments. Is that what you want?

I haven't heard any pubbie senatorial candidates boast how they will reject radical court nominees. It would gladden my heart to hear the GOP caucus promise to stomp on them.

I’ve been asking for a long time what the GOP is giving conservatives to vote for in NOV 2014.

It is the height of GOP-e arrogance to think that I’m going to pull the lever for them simply because they’re not the “other guy.” Fact is, the GOP-e has been enabling the “other guy” for a while now.

Congress is increasingly a waypoint on the road to incredible power and wealth.

Eric Cantor could be its poster boy. The jerk couldn't even finish his term before heading off to Wall Street riches.

The only vision the RINOs have is to enjoy the same self-aggrandizement as the Demmunist Party which currently infests the Senate, and that's why they are silent.
You know, the kind of activity that lost the Republicans the House and the Senate 2006.

They’re following an established pattern. They hide in holes and offer no resistance to the left, but at election time, they suddenly wake up and say, “Vote for us because we’re not Democrats!”

Except they might as well be.

Perhaps. But not even a fraction as much as they hate TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVES! And yet, they still think they're entitled to the votes of those they more-or-less openly hate. Sadly, oh so sadly, they will get many of them.

Good rant, Jacquerie.

Maggie Gallagher has a column in NRO whistling your tune.

The GOP candidate in Oregon endorses abortion and homosexual marriage. Yet, she's losing ground in the polls.

I guess I’m all internet thumbs this morning, I couldn’t find that column by Gallagher.

Yes, I heard about the candidate. Why would a democrat vote for a pseudo liberal when they can vote for the real thing?

OUTSTANDING COMMENTS!

I agree.

The "ESTABLISHMENT REPUBLICANS" will NOT get the message unless THAD COCKROACH LOSES!

It is VITAL that Thad is removed, or the RINOs will do it again, and they may do it again, anyway.

REMEMBER
MISSISSIPPI

“MOFO”

Who can resist watching a vid from MOFO productions?

I couldn’t.

Say, what is the latest w/McDaniel? I know he lost the court appeal. Has he conceded?

Here the latest from September 19,2014
The writer of that article really chopped that information up into a way that makes it hard to understand exactly what happened and whats going to happen. I am SOOOOOOO DISGUSTED with Mississippi's "GOOD 'OLE BOY NETWORK".

God curse them all !

Thanks much for the update. Instead of this in the news, we hear of wife beaters in the NFL.

I'm starting to develop an attitude toward the Uniparty.

Venezuela has elections too.
