Why Republicans Should Never Play Nice with Democrats
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | September 14, 2014 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 09/15/2014 7:00:34 AM PDT by Bratch

Democrats routinely deride Republicans as extremists bent on coarsening the discourse. In January 2014, in the same interview in which he infamously claimed that ISIS was a “jayvee” team, President Obama blamed conservative media for polarizing the country:

The issue has been the inability of my message to penetrate the Republican base so that they feel persuaded that I’m not the caricature that you see on Fox News or Rush Limbaugh, but I’m somebody who is interested in solving problems and is pretty practical, and that, actually, a lot of the things we’ve put in place worked better than people might think.

Castigating Republicans as unreasonable rhetoricians interested only in pandering to their base has become the entire Democratic 2014 campaign strategy. If the GOP will not work with Obama because they are cruel and nasty, the logic goes, the only solution is to vote them out of Congress.

It’s not working. One of the reasons it isn’t working: Democrats are truly the party of over-the-top demonization of their opposition. Here are the top five examples from the last few months alone:

:: Castigating Republicans as unreasonable rhetoricians interested only in pandering to their base ::

Uhhhh, Mr. Shapiro. This entire string of words WILL NOT RESONATE with the typical American voter.

What is “castigate”?
Who or what is a “rhetorician”?
What is “pander”?

What should I shoot myself in the foot to get someone’s attention?

NEVER play nice with today’s Democrats. They are no longer democrats of yore but progressive haters and liars. They can’t be trusted and are the enemy from within.

Nothing is going to ever change until Republicans learn that they have to stop being on defense all the time and actually start playing to win. That means taking it to your opponents, not backing down, and putting points on the board. Run over them and advance the ball down field any way you can.

The only thing I admire about Democrats is that they play to win. They get it.

As predictable as the democrat strategy is, and as badly as I'd like to see the GOP finally grow a pair, they still seem to be frightened to death of media criticism.

They're playing 'prevent' again, and counting on voter revulsion with Obama. Exactly when they should be making the case for constitutionally grounded government. Tragic.

Republicans could be winners if they actually stood for something.

“... If the GOP will not work with Obama because they are cruel and nasty, the logic goes...”

Uhmmm. . .one side refuses to engage the other and stymies every single bill put before them.

As well, they regularly attempt to engage the opposition and at least get the conversation started.

No, it’s the Democrats who refuse, by any objective measure and observation, to work toward a mutually agreed solution.

The only thing demonicrats are good for is to be indicted, tried, convicted, and hanged for supporting genocidal murder-by-abortion, crimes against humanity, and treason.

We can’t hang them all, but we need to make it clear that is all they are good for.

The democrats of yore did the same things then as now. Jefferson and his cronies secretly bought a NY newspaper to trash and spread lies about Washington and his administration while Jefferson was his SoS. They did the same with Adams while Jefferson was his VP. They actively supported the scumbag who nearly beat to death another congressman who disagreed with him. They are the party of slavery, secession, the KKK, etc. They’re the same now as always and playing nice with them only emboldens them.

I got to hand it to Nancy. She is already on the campaign trail for the next election. She knows this one is going to park her ass in the overflow lots, but she’s attacking republicans who haven’t even won their elections for destroying the country. Because she’s so extreme the media covers her and puts her quotes up for all to see. But she will ride this, repeating it constantly and as soon as there is a market set back or other problems arise she will be there claiming civilization is coming to an end and the only way out is to elect democrats.
She attacked Bush almost daily and Bush being a Republican he never fought back but she took the house and crammed health care down our throats. We need an attack dog that that just tell the truth, but with some heat on it. We need to hit the rats often, and hard. Hard enough that it gets peoples attention and gets printed. We have never had more to work with either.

The Democrats are copying the same tactics that Hitler used to take over Germany:
1. Focus the Public attention on a perceived enemy. The Democrats have outdone Hitler by segmenting the country and creating a monster for each group: Whites for Blacks; Rich for poor; Men for women; Corporations for workers; etc. Then the roll all the monsters into the Republican Party.
2. Make Government the center of your world. Control the country’s education; its heath care; use regulations to control food, drink, energy, and commerce.
3. Take away their self defense (Guns).
4. Control the Media and project onto your enemy every evil that your Party has enacted upon the population.
5. Eliminate competing organizations of influence: religion, Boy scouts, TEA party.
6. Control the masses with an ever larger and ever more militarized Police force.

The list goes on and on. When will the public wake up?

The Republican Party does not believe in a constitutionally grounded government. Except for perhaps a brief respite under Reagan, they never have.

There’s no difference between Democrats and Republicans

Electing a Democrat is much better than electing a RINO

Supporting Harry Reid is what all true conservative should do

We’re better off with the Democrats in charge

Do these statements sound familiar? They should, they often appear on Free Republic even though polls show that only about 1% of Republicans plan to vote for Democrats. Are all of these people members of this forum? Or are they just blowing off steam?
