PARIS (AP) -- Iraq's president says Arab powers Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia do not need to join airstrikes against the Islamic State group.
In an exclusive interview with The Associated Press, President Fouad Massoum also expressed regret that Iran was not invited to take part in the 26-nation conference in Paris on Monday to try to counter the Islamic extremists who control vast parts of Iraq and neighboring Syria.
The conference of mostly Western and Arab world countries and the five permanent U.N. Security Council members aims to show a united front, especially from majority-Muslim nations.
A U.S. State Department official said that several Arab countries had offered to conduct airstrikes against Islamic State fighters.
Massoum says it's "not necessary" for Egypt, UAE or Saudi Arabia to participate in airstrikes.

A. Obama never got Iraqi President Fouad Massoum's buy-in on the plan to operate militarily with Arab allies in, well, Iraq.
B. Iraq was not invited to join the 26 nation conference to discuss the problem of Islamic militants operating in, ummm, Iraq.
The hits just keep coming folks.
F’em then.
The rich ones will get on their jets and fly away. Just as they did in ‘90.
The rest will go along to get along. I still don’t see this as our problem.
Obama wanted Maliki out for this guy. Looks like the new guy will be helping IS cause he wants a caliphate too.
“The conference of mostly Western and Arab world countries and the five permanent U.N. Security Council members aims to show a united front, especially from majority-Muslim nations.”
What do you want to bet those majority-Muslim nations are majority Sunni? This is starting to look more and more like Obama is lending a hand to an internecine battle to cleanse the Muslim world of Shiites and other sects.
Not my idea either — got that from Jerome Corsi. I will add that the Nation of Islam generally follows the Sunni tradition, and I still say young Obama was an acolyte of Farrakhan and NOI in his secretive post-college years. Ergo he wears the Sunni mantle in this battle, which is why he is loathe to fire on ISIS.
So if you’re looking for ISIS sympathizers in America, start with the NOI ideologues and converts.
3 men walked into the voting station in 0bama’s neighborhood together to vote in 2008: 0bama, Ayres, an Farrakhan.
The only pic you see now is cropped to exclude Louie.
Maliki asked for our help. This new guy says “go away”.
“The only pic you see now is cropped to exclude Louie.”
I guess Calypso singing isn’t as popular as is was back in 2008!
Imagine that. The peaceniks in the “religion of peace” find no need to strike at the head-chopping “hijackers” of the “religion of peace”.
The JV and their cheerleaders are kicking our PhD’s butts.
Hey country Joe Biden and your choomer-in-chief... it’s one, two, three what are we fightin’ for

Obama’s house that he never visits is right down the street from NOI headquarters. You know, the place Tony Rezko from Syria bought for him. (Did I say too much???)
In other words, no Sunnis need apply (UAE and KSA are mainly Sunni, with small Shia minorities).
The way I see it, Iraq still owes the U.S. a whole lotta black gold for freeing their butts from that sadistic Saddam Hussein and his two psychotic murderous sons.
Then, we spend billions (re)building infrastructure, schools, institutions.
And to your point...you are right on the money. This is the A-rabs problem. Bring our boy’z home and guard our borders so these muzzie maniacs cannot get into this country.
fine then neither do we
let Iraq and Saudi handle it them effing selves
we are not their paid mercenaries.
If we don’t take care of the problem there,
Soon we will have to take care of the problem here.
better for the US to select the battlefield.
Regarding B that was Iran not Iraq.
I think you may be being hoodwinked again. We have heard that “threat” before. Very little has come of it, aside from many thousand American dead.
The West is sitting sooooo deep in the muzzie manure it cannot even identify the source of the stench.
And we haven’t even begun to comprehend the muslim problem at home.
Islamic State crisis: Kerry to lead talks in Paris -- About 40 countries, including 10 Arab states, have signed up to a coalition to help fight IS in Iraq and Syria. Several Arab countries have offered to take part in air strikes on IS fighters in Iraq...Of course the Shiite puppet state ruled from Iran rejected the idea.
Yes, thanks.
Iraq's president says Arab powers Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia do not need to join airstrikes against [ISIS] ... also expressed regret that Iran was not invited to take part in the 26-nation conference...
