WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Rep. Michele Bachmann says she was told by the FBI that Americans who joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria in the Middle East would be allowed to return to the U.S.
Speaking to Newsmax, the Minnesota Republican detailed a private meeting she had with the federal agency earlier this summer when she asked them if any Minnesotans had joined ISIS.
“The FBI told me … that there were two Minnesotans that had joined up with the Islamic State. I asked the FBI, ‘If they choose to return to Minnesota, will they be allowed to?’ The FBI responded, ‘Yes, they will. They’re American citizens,’” Bachmann explained. “My jaw dropped when they said that. I said, ‘You mean nothing happens?’ They said, ‘Well, we put their name on a watch list and they have additional screening.’”
Bachmann explained that the additional screening consists of extra questions and then they would be allowed to go back unimpeded to live.

Even if they are ISIS terrorists, US Citizens are guaranteed the right of entry into the United States. Once they get here they can be subject to any laws they may have broken while abroad.

The Obama administration has issued new exemptions to a law that bars certain asylum-seekers and refugees who provided “limited material support” to terrorists who are believed to pose no threat from the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security and the State Department published the new exemptions in the Federal Register to narrow a ban in the Immigration and Nationality Act excluding refugees and asylum seekers who had provided limited material support, no matter how minor, to terrorists.
“These exemptions cover five kinds of limited material support that have adversely and unfairly affected refugees and asylum seekers with no tangible connection to terrorism: material support that was insignificant in amount or provided incidentally in the course of everyday social, commercial, family or humanitarian interactions, or under significant pressure,” a DHS official explained to The Daily Caller.
Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and Secretary of State John Kerry signed the exemptions. DHS contends that the law change is “commonsense” and that immigration procedures will remain the same in other respects. (Excerpt) Read more at dailycaller.com ...
