Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) found that over $33,700 in campaign flights were inappropriately charged to her official account in an internal review of her finances released Friday.
The report is sure to draw added scrutiny to her use of charter planes just as her main opponent, Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), is set to introduce a resolution meant to highlight such spending, which he calls a "waste of Americans’ hard-earned tax dollars."
The review, which was released four days after her self-imposed deadline of Sept. 8, found that the senator took 43 trips, which amounted to 136 campaign functions, that were paid for by funds meant for official business only. Eleven percent of the total amount Landrieu’s office paid for chartered flights should have been paid out of her campaign funds, the review found.

How are you gonna keep royalty home? How are you gonna keep them out of First Class? How are you gonna convince them taxpayers shouldn’t be paying for their “working vacations”?
Why is someone going after her all this time? Whenever an incumbent Democrat gets in trouble, you have to wonder why.
A simple tasking....require these guys every eight weeks or two months....to go and spend an entire month in their state (no excursions to Thailand or Paris). I wouldn’t mind the gov’t giving them a one-way ticket every two months...forcing them to meet their voters and get “right” with them on understanding their needs and problems.

She was in the habit of chartering flights back home -- to visit with her "little people".

What are the odds that Landrieu’s staff accounting errors and oversight on these charges might have turned out the other way with her charging her own accounts for government travel? Less than zero is my guess.
And the IRS wants to go after employers who offer free meals to their employees...
Her campaign speech:
"After a rigorous review of my own activities, I found that I am a real crook. Re-elect me and I promise to fight my own corruption with a renewed vigor".
This audit goes back to 2002 and includes underpayment of flights from that time forward.
2002 is when the mixed travel payments began.

why is her ass not on a silver platter considering Richard Pombo was crucified for actually saving money by traveling in an RV—even with his family—to places he was scheduled to be? why was his working vacation such a big NO-NO?!!
Whew! That would pay for an awful lot of Commiecare (which she has failed to sign up for like she promised).
In more honest terms it’s called stealing.
Landrieu does not fly commercial airlines, she charters private jets for her travel.

Just think about how much money we would save by moving these leeches home. Make them conduct the Country’s business via teleconference. Set up a committee to disburse funds for travel. Make them beg for and justify money for travel. Make Dems approach Repubs for money and Repubs ask Dems.If any part of the trip is for personal business, they can travel commercial, coach class. Upgrades will be at their own expense. Absolutely NO Government owned planes will be supplied, PERIOD.
