People like to say that the Do Nothing Congress generally lives up to its name, but this week the House of Representatives actually managed to get together and pass something. H.R. 5078, the Waters of the United States Regulatory Overreach Protection Act, somehow got to the floor for a vote and even garnered the support of 35 Democrats in addition to nearly all the Republicans. The subject at hand is the perennial thorn in the side of regulatory hawks, the Clean Water Act (CWA).

Congress should ‘Zero’ the budget of the EPA, and MANY other federal agencies. It’s funny how Congressmen throw up their hands and complain about these agencies, as if they are bystanders like us, but in reality, they effectively CONTROL them via appropriations. They just don’t have the balls for those kinds of fights.

It will die in the Senate. But the Democrats want to muzzle your free speech but you can kiss your private property rights good-bye.

At least they have their priorities in order.

From the article:

“In the latest go round, the EPA proposes to expand the definition of “waters of the United States” to include essentially any pool of water big enough for a dog to take a drink out of or a bird to have a bath.”

“Of course, in order to get this through, Harry Reid will need to be forced to bring it to a vote in the Senate. This close to an election I wouldn’t bet the ranch on it. Not even the Sackett’s ranch.”

There are no property rights. Pay off your land or house and see if you really “own” it outright. The city, county and state still own and control it. Sucks huh.

I suspect enough them are compromised by deeds they'd not like us to hear about. Why else would rational, honest people do what they do?

Well, in that case, Lindsey Graham probably has enough skeletons in his closet to fill a cemetery!

A ‘gradual discovery’ of the federal injustice system no doupt. There is a great need in this country for freedom and justice, and that need only grows by the day. One day that need will be so great that a free people will have no choice but to shake off the shackles of the Federal injustice system.

Men like Bundy thou perhaps criminally wrong will become folk heroes for standing up to such tyrants.

Even if it made it through the Senate, Obastard would veto it because the EPA power grab originates from him and his minions.

Yep, the same way the Republicans claim to be against abortion yet vote to give Planned Parenthood hundreds of millions of $ every year.

I am stunned, STUNNED I tell ya, that our pub congress actually DID something.....

isn't it true that all these epa regulations could be undone by a simple act of Congress?.....isn't it true that the Congress could over ride any stupidity by the Epa?

According to the US Constitution, I believe the federal government only has jurisdiction over the navigable waters. This use of the phrase “waters of the United States” is tyrannical thuggery.

DON’T drink the ditch water. :>} So when I lived in FL and cleared the ditch in front of my house to help get the water flowing post hurricane/typical afternoon FL rain storm, I might have been in trouble?
