HONOLULU —Thousands have seen the street confrontation between a furious mother and the driver who cut her off.

The video was taken from the driver's perspective at the Moanalua Shopping Center and posted on Facebook on Wednesday.

I disagree. There are uptight people all over the country. We just returned from a trip to the islands. Sat in bumper to bumper traffic in Waikiki due to some event. Drivers were accommodating and polite. During our entire visit there was just one occasion in which a woman yelled at us while speeding down the avenue.

I have to travel to Germany frequently on business. I don't know what the road rage statistics are there but I'm certain the situation is far better than in the US, simply because drivers don't cut each other off, block faster traffic in the left lane, pass on the right, or practice other bad driving. It's certainly not perfect over there - especially around the larger cities - but it's far better than here. They manage to drive faster than we do while also driving more safely than we do.

It's impossible now, but if all 50 states had instituted driver education and licensing requirements as strenuous as those in Germany, we might be where they are now. As it is, people like these two idiots are why all of us will eventually be forced into self-driving cars with no ability to control anything about the vehicle except it's destination and the music we listen to en route.

That woman’s inability to control her temper might get her killed one day, a bullet to the face from close range.

She had no idea the intentions or inclinations of the other driver. There are evil people who will kill you for far less than her tantrum.

She taught her kid a poor lesson: It’s OK to get all out of proportion over a minor traffic incident, or any incident at all. Going ballistic is what mommy does, so I will, too.

I wholeheartedly agree. She should not be a nurse for starters, nor should she be serving in the military.

Nurses deal with people in pain and in crisis. It's important that the nurse be able to maintain calm in the face of others who may be hurting, angry, or irrational. This nurse does not appear to have the required mental state to be a nurse.
