In a televised address on how to address the Islamic State this evening, President Barack Obama declared the organization variously known as ISIS or ISIL to be “not Islamic.”
In making this preposterous claim, Obama joins his two immediate predecessors in pronouncing on what is not Islamic. Bill Clinton called the Taliban treatment of women and children “a terrible perversion of Islam.” George W. Bush deemed that 9/11 and other acts of violence against innocents “violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith.”
None of the three has any basis for such assertions. To state the obvious: As non-Muslims and politicians, rather than Muslims and scholars, they are in no position to declare what is Islamic and what is not. As Bernard Lewis, a leading American authority of Islam, notes: “It is surely presumptuous for those who are not Muslims to say what is orthodox and what is heretical in Islam.”

President Obolo can say anything he wants.
This should be the headline of every media outlet this morning.
The person with the most access to information in the world has not only denied his own beliefs, but now denies the nature of the biggest threat to world peace.
He will not say anything bad about Islam no matter how many are killed for being non-believers.
His mind has been in utopia so long it thinks it’s real.

‘ISIL IS NOT ISLAMIC’ was the part of the speech Obama felt most passionate about... Obama needs to tell the thousands of people around the world who are members of ISIS that.... they don’t seem to be in on the secret.
Only a fellow muslim would say Isil is not islamic....
Think if it in terms of a Christian saying members of the KKK aren’t Christians...
I’d like to see the long line of imams standing up to declare them apostate.
Until then, since they are working to establish the Islamic Caliphate, I’d have to take them at their word.
And this is the problem. Muslims acting with confidence and authority are a powerful magnet to the less-confident and less committed. There is no bright line separating the “moderate” from the jihadist. We have to attract muslims to work with us to destroy the jihadists and we have to attract muslim countries to give us staging ground and bases.
So we have to recognize the existence of muslims who are decent. But we shouldn’t get into the weeds trying to decide what is and isn’t Islam, let them do that.
We should present what is good and right and righteous and contrast it clearly against what is not. We can’t do that trying to speak for Islam. We can do that speaking as Americans whose views are firmly rooted in a Christian world view. It is this Christian foundation that even makes it possible for us to be the magnet we need to be in the opposite direction. Hiding our Christianity only makes our job harder if not ultimately impossible.
Obama’s “war” is doomed from the start. You can’t fight an enemy that you refuse to properly identify.
Of course, this is all just a sham, anyway.
This is an important psychological point for Obama. For him to order white, infidel, Christian pilots to bomb Muslim jihadists, however barbaric they may be, is very problematic for him. He is able to to it if he labels them “not Islamic”. Best that can be expected from Obama. It is yet to be seen if he maintains his focus and determination. Last night he wanted to destroy ISIS, tomorrow he may not. Obama confuses rhetoric with leadership and accomplishment.
The practices of ISIL (including the murders, tortures, enslavements and genocides) represent the VERY ESSENCE OF ISLAM. Anyone who says different is either abysmally ignorant or willfully lying. Obama is in the 2nd category.
These islamo fascists tell us that they are doing what they do in the name of Islam. Terrorists shout Allah Akbar (sp),as they blow themselves and innocent people up.
These people are fanatical Muslims. We are intentionally misstating what the threat is. Is this because we want to prove we are liberal? Because we look at the world in a certain way, and think that Islam is a religion of peace? What the heck????
You can’t defeat that which you are even unwilling to call by its proper name.

America has to remember that Clinton and Bush are not from Islamic backgrounds. They are not avid protectors of Islam as Obama obviously is, from both actions and his own public statements. It is frightening to realize what is in our Oval Office and that our national security is under his control.
