There’s a term for this. It’s “running down the clock.”
Really smart move by Republicans. Two months until the election and all of the items Harry and the Dems really wanted to talk about get back burnered so that debate can happen on an issue that only the nutcase extreme of the Dem Party cares about.
I mean, go ahead and let the Dems rail about the Koch Bros. This gives the Republicans all sorts of time to either play defense and delay, or go on the offensive and start talking about Soros and the other shady Dem big money donors.
Harry Reid, Much Like Joe Biden is a senile Puppet of the puppet obama....
Dingy Harry’s dementia is progressing, ready the rubber room.
He now gets irate with Republicans when they vote for his bills. LOL!
Reid said :
“Their constitutional amendment is about restoring freedom of speech for everyone in America, whether youre a billionaire, a millionaire, upper middle class, middle class, lower middle class, poor, homeless”
Catchy
He also said that allowing campaign funding through ads is like giving $$$ the right vote that each person should only have,
On both sides, just another effort to waste Gov. time to look as if they are concerned and moving forward instead of the continual stalemate and waste of funds that is normal!
“DEMOCRATS OPPOSE THE FIRST AMENDMENT”
(Message THAT!)
.. And I thought. Obama was the poster boy of politics of cowardice.
Teed it up for you
He got Obamacare passed.
He gave all those illegals amnesty in his re-election year.
“I guess no one noticed that the GOP is just as quick and happy to curtail the First Amendment as the MarxoFascist Democrats are.”
I guess you didn’t read the article ....
The Republicans do suck, but this was a smart move by them.
The debate should consist of
“restricting freedoms is typical of Democrat policy”
Quite a bit of uproar was made over this as bad publicity and so the GOP in panic tried to amend their bill to get rid of that provision, but enough Dems joined some in the GOP to vote down the amendment so the felony provision stayed in that doomed bill.
This doomed the House GOP bill.
Now Dems really didn't support making being here illeglly a felony, they just wanted to see the GOP suffer, and they did,
GOP got booted out in November. The following year Bush announces that Pelosi taking the house was a chance to pass immigration reform.
Sometimes ya gotta play it a bit devious to beat an enemy(not telegraph all your punches ahead of time) . Dems know how.
You are assuming curtailing political speech is a loser for the Democrats.
Why join them to jump off the cliff at all?
A good majority of Millennials and the usual Useful Idiots agree with them that curtailing political speech is a great idea - because they bought the lie that corporations are not people and should not have rights and that money in politics SHOULD be abolished or limited.
It was in the mid-to-late 1700's when our forbears suffered a tyranny much lighter than what we are comfortable with.
Dad mentioned this tidbit once ... Dad said, Some people you just cannot make happy. They will dang you if you do and dang you if you don’t. Dad was thinking of ‘dingy harry’.
As it has been said on radio many times:
“when a fool opens their mouth, just get out of the way and they shall sink themselves with their own words!”
Well, when free birth control is made an option many americans will vote for tyranny.
Yup. As Rush says, you cannot compete with Santa Claus.
Obama’s Free Sh*t Army odes number well into the multiple millions.
Just saw a woman this PM, with three cartfulls of stuff - all on an EBT card that she told the cashier she was proud to be using for the last 15 years. Told the lady that she makes more money on Welfare than she can getting a job at a ‘burger joint’.
Of course the government facilitates this to create more dependent serfs willing to do their bidding.
Come to think of it - our Forbears may have had a much easier foe to deal with than what we have right here at home.
Free sh*t wins out over the quaint notions of ‘liberty’ when the vast majority of the public thinks ‘liberty’ is their right to free stuff.
We live in an age where principles mean nothing. As such, we’re doomed.
