Decades pass with no mountain lion attacks in California, then the Libs ban lion hunting to “save the lions” and guess what? mountain lions lose their fear of people and start seeing us a food.
I remember the election in which these sweet lil puddy tats were given endangered species Protection...
Back in the 1600’s Jesuit Preists offer a Bull to the local indians for every Mountain Lion they killed...

I have had a few people try to get me to sign a petition eliminating the position of “trapper” from the county payroll (The trapper kills or removes dangerous animals, coyotes, bobcat, lion, that harm people or livestock). They soon learn that I have employed the trapper and know him well. I usually wait until they spout their nonsense about him killing 70 lions a year in the county (I think that number is a state number of lions killed over 10 years). Were we so heavily populated with lion that he was doing that many kills a year it would be dangerous to go outside. Furthermore, such a kill rate flies in the face of their 300 square mile habitat and number of livestock kills. THey then tell me non-lethal means such as guard animals, llamas, alpacas, donkeys, etc work. I have seen three llamas killed in one attack by a lion as well as dead donkeys and a 500 lb calf. They can take pretty much what they want, to obviously include little boys.
Thank goodness, it's really bad when they attack in a passive manner, or worse yet passive aggressive! We have pushed wildlife out of their homes and then are surprised when they return.
Thank you both for your long and accurate memories, it appears I am not alone.
I NEVER go out walking unarmed in places where I’m not at the top of the food chain, especially with my children.
the election in the later part of the last century I have firsthand memory of
the stuff from the 1600’s,.. not so much
For what? ..being a mountain lion.
You TEA Party kook, your National Geographic subscription has been rescinded.
I live in a rural area and have watched the increase in lions over the past several decades. You never used to see their tracks unless you were in a very remote area, now I frequently find them outside the office and even in the snow in my front yard at home.
Now the Santa Monica Bay is basically shark-infested. Only one biting incident so far, but give it time.
You don't know California very well, that is entirely too logical.
Not kidding.
I guess you have never seen our governor moonbeam.
Yeah they need some time to confiscate all the Jet Skis, and fine (revenue punish) their "whale annoying" owners, so there is no chance of Jet Ski rescue of a surfer when the attacks do come.
Audubon has articles about the toxicity of Tylenol to house cats.
Must have been accurate, ‘cause the Cat ladies were foaming at the mouth about the article. From the article, 200 mg would turn a bird killing kitty into nutrients.
Yeah, maybe you have a point, Moonbeam is metro sexual enough and old enough to be classified as a "California Cougar".
Actually moonbeam is queer as a texas steer, he can’t hide that no matter how big a beard he has. But I guess that still leaves him as a possible “cougar” for a certain demographic.
Take your kid on a walk through a mountain lion’s dining room and somehow it’s the cat’s fault.
