The Baltimore Ravens have terminated the contract of running back Ray Rice, the team announced Monday, the same day a shocking video surfaced showing the NFL star punching his then-fiancee in February.
The news release from the NFL team was terse.
"The Baltimore Ravens terminated the contract of RB Ray Rice this afternoon," it read.
Rice had been suspended by the league for the first two games of the season, a controversial move that led to widespread criticism and to the league re-evaluating the punishment for domestic violence cases.

If he had just taken her back to the hotel room before he smacked her around he would still be playing.
The NFL did not want to suspend him. Not for 2 games, not at all. It was the video that forced their hand. They don’t care that he beats her up, just that he should not do it on camera.
I guess he better take up basketball.......................

Rice should have just explained that he “lost it” when she told him in the elevator that she didn’t see anything wrong with the Redskins name and logo.
The NFL has now suspended Rice indefinitely.

I was wondering the same thing. Money is powerfully motivating to a lot of people. Makes me wonder if she now has less incentive to stay married now that the gravy train has left the station.

I want him in prison!! Where is the DA on this overwhelming video evidence of aggrevated assault. Why does he get off prosecution? She does NOT have to testify— Just show the video!! We put Michael Vick in prison for letting his dog fight? Are you kidding me?

I have been going to church since I was 6 or 7 years old...longer than I can clearly remember. Have always seen people dressed in various states of attire.

Kind of like bammy saying he should have thought about "the optics" of him playing golf 10 minutes after his talking with the parents of some guy who got his head cut off by muslim animals.
