Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani has called IS a state in possession of heavy weaponry, but with the help of US air strikes, the Peshmerga have been able to take back control of most of the Kurdish areas they captured.

In an interview with the Turkish Milliyet newspaper, Barzani has spoken about the latest situation on the front lines, ’Due to the capture of Iraqi army heavy weapons by IS insurgents, they are stronger than Peshmerga forces.’

’Peshmerga forces are fighting IS militants on behalf of the entire world as they are threat to everyone,’ said Barzani.

In the interview, Barzani mentions that Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) fighters have helped Peshmerga forces.

Commenting on the role of Turkey, Barzani pointed out that although Turkey has sent humanitarian aid to the Kurdistan Region, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) expects more from them. He said that the KRG understands Turkey’s concerns over the Turkish hostages taken by IS.

Barzani also told the newspaper that he was happy with the result of Turkey’s Presidential election where a Kurdish youth, Selahattin Demirtash, was able to poll 10% of the votes.

Anybody care to guess how much heavy weaponry the IS has lost to airstrikes and how much they still have?

I don't know but I have feeling ISIS is going to go down rather quickly if we let loose with some serious nonstop airstrikes.

“Due to the capture of Iraqi army heavy weapons by IS insurgents”

You would think our drones could find our Abrams tanks that we gave to Iraqi army and destroy those.

Hate to get my hopes up, but it does seem like they were profiting off an aura of invincibility that it’s apparent they no longer have.

Onward Peshmerga!
