U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday said a growing international coalition was ready and able to defeat the group calling itself the Islamic State (also ISIS or ISIL) within three years. "We're convinced that in the days ahead we have the ability to destroy ISIL," Kerry said Friday in Wales, where he was attending a NATO summit along with U.S. President Barack Obama. "It may take a year, it may take two years, it may take three years. But were determined it has to happen."
Kerry's remarks came at the top of a meeting to build an anti-ISIS coalition among NATO allies. The meeting was co-chaired by Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel and the U.K.'s foreign and defense secretaries, and it included top diplomats from a variety of NATO members.
Kerry adopted a tone far beyond the caution U.S. officials had exhibited over the past week. He said there was "no contain policy" for confronting ISIS, stating equivocally that the U.S. believed the group must be destroyed through the work of an international coalition.
The military strategy toward accomplishing that, he said, would include a mix of blasting the Sunni extremist group from the air while supporting allies on the ground in Iraq and Syria.
"There is no contain policy for ISIL. Theyre an ambitious, avowed genocidal, territorial-grabbing, Caliphate-desiring, quasi state within a regular army," Kerry said. "And leaving them in some capacity intact anywhere would leave a cancer in place that will ultimately come back to haunt us. So there is no issue in our minds about our determination to build this coalition, go after this."

Kerry is going to do it single handedly - anyone have a bullet proof butt vest?
The Obama administration has decided to merge with Islamic State and borrow funds for wind turbine cars and solar powered HIV cures.
They will be bankrupt within 3 years!
Like Ted Danson’s bleat in 1998 that the world be gone in 10 years.
Destroyed within two years, eh?
*looks around at our degraded and under-funded military*
By whom?
Precisely.
Two years of dithering and Islamic encouragement from Obama, then a year of actual war against ISIS (from either the Democrat OR the Republican elect)
Three years... so when they aren’t the Obama Administration can blame their successors.
People will stop drowning their food in ketchup before ISIS rolls over and croaks, you freaky Herman Munster clone-a-like.
When does King Putt leave his throne?
In the meantime however he’ll have discussions with the Taliban encourage Israel to talk with Hamas and think it’s perfectly fine for Hezbollah to be integrated into Lebanon’s government.
It makes sense for the Obama administration to say three years. That way they can do nothing for the next two years without being criticized by the MSM.

Kerry’s face will fall off in three years...
That’s the good news. The bad news is that oceans will be 35 feet higher.

“What do you mean Tiger is injured and can’t join me for some links golf. I thought you were a diplomat or something.”
> JOHN KERRY: ISIS Will Be Destroyed Within 3 Years
Two and a half years for a Republican President to be installed and within six months after ISIS is exterminated.
Is that what you meant, Lurch?
Watching boy wonder on FNC right now writing more red line checks he can’t cash.
Because Kerry will go over and belly dance for them.
His horse like face will either drive them to lust, or obliterate them with “WTF?!” reactions.
“JOHN KERRY: ISIS Will Be Destroyed Within 3 Years”
We have to wait for Cankles to do it?
We’re so screwed...
Obama, FnKerry and their crew specializing in giving new meaning to word(s).
FnKerry’s State Dept creates #ISIShasbeendestroyed
THERE! Job done already. (No charge)
Yup, watching it now. “We need a strong ground game from our coalition in the region...”
That’s his plan.
