sacremento --

In a lively and sometimes raucous debate, Gov. Jerry Brown and Republican challenger Neel Kashkari provided Californians with two very different visions Thursday night of how they would spend the next four years as governor.

For Brown, seeking his record fourth term in office, it was a promise of more of the same, a continuing measured improvement in the state's financial and social well-being.

That's not good enough, Kashkari said.

"I'm running for governor to help your family," he said in his closing statement. "Don't settle for incrementalism. ... We need big changes."

There is a reason this was sheduled against the openning nfl game. They knew what it would look like an sheduled for it. Kashkari is not my perfect candidate, but lets try to get behind this guy in Ronald Regan fashion.

38 million people live here Cali. More than half of them are complete and total morons that would vote for a skunk as long as they’re a democrat.

Don’t get your hopes up. From the looks of things we’re a lost cause.

He’s a lib who voted for Obama. There’s no evidence he’ll be anything like Reagan.

If you want the GOP to continue leftward go ahead and vote for an Obama voter.

Never ever give up. I want to fight, even if it is a lost cause because many times by l standing up to the bully, we break their will. Will you stand and fight or do you only fight when the win is certain or likely?

I never said he was Regan, i said support in the spirit.

It is so sqd to see so many freepers so negative about everything.

ideological purity is being used by democrats to divide us.

I always vote and I always voice my opinion to anyone who will listen. I proudly have NEVER voted for any democrat or dem backed initiative. My record is staunchly conservative going all the way back to Reagan, my first vote was for him in 1980 when I was 23 and I have never missed voting in ANY election since then.

I’ll be right there this election too. But if you look into Kashkari you will find that he’s just another RINO throwaway candidate that the GOP knows cannot win and they won’t give him much support or money.

Realistically, I’ve been here too many times before to not tell you the straight up truth. California is a lost cause until we run a real conservative that people can get behind. Kashkari’s not that candidate.

I see Conservatives fed up with a party that ignores us but wants our vote.

Interesting you mention ideological purity when Kashkari voted for Obama in 2008. If its ok for him not to get behind McCain then Conservatives should return the favor and not vote for Kashkari.

So ideological dilution and eventual eradication is preferable? Looks like you get to choose between two democrats. Good luck with that.

California is toast. A state that routinely returns the quintessential idiot Barbara Boxer to the U.S. Senate cannot be saved.

Move away. I did, more than 30 years ago, and haven’t looked back.

What suprises me is how much democrap work is being done unwittingly here by patriots.

Oh, you mean the pretend Republican who supports Gay Rights and Abortion?

Even Reagan wouldn't get behind this turd!

No thanks! I'll find a good solid conservative candidate in the Independent ranks and vote for him/her.

I choose to stand and fight.

You choose to sacrifice your conservative principles (if you had any) to support someone who is immoral.

Great decision on your part!

Leni, getting rid of the brown streak is better than standing on the sidelines.

Oh, i forgot, those who stand on the sidelines are morally superior to those of us who fight.

Thanks for the encouragement.
