“There were no guards during the break-in,” the ministry said on April 7. The ministry said the target was a warehouse of the Interior Ministry in Subiya, Middle East Newsline reported. The statement said thieves broke three doors and removed the entire contents of the warehouse.

The story reports that US supply/logistics types are assigned to Kuwait and obviously those 20K M16’s were for US soldiers once in the theater or to equip troops trained by spec ops or US types. I cannot help wonder why those weapons were not shipped over two weeks ago to the Kurds? No one guarding arms and ammo is even beyond the newest 2LT’s ability to screw up. The senior US logistics type responsible for Kuwait needs to be relieved plus demoted ASAP. An investigation should be conducted immediately.

"Wonder what those go for on the arms market nowadays?

The way the U.S. has scattered M-16s throughout the Middle East, there couldn't possibly be a shortage of them on the international arms market, so I'd estimate their value at approximately $500 each making this a 10 million dollar heist.

Maybe they saw a “Gun Free Zone” sign and thought it meant take all you want.

This is interesting; I have been wondering when Kuwait was going to come into play. I wonder what the House of Saud is thinking since ISIS threatened their intelligence last month. Seems like Saudi Arabia might be named that much longer.

Detractor? I have been one, to a point , but for a light close in fighting weapon, I give it a b+.
Where you have long ranges and/or fortified baricades etc. I’d take an M-14 or FN/FAL or an AR 10(stoners ideal weapon).
I have a brace of garands and a 1944 built bone stock 1911A1(I’ll definitely take that over an M9). The big heavy awkward battle rifles are still my first love. But dad was issued an M1 carbine which was far more anemic than the 5.56. So things change....and I move forward cautiously.

Strange, I heard the mooslims were offended because of the coded biblical verses on the Aimpoint scopes.

Stolen? I doubt it. More like permanently loaned via creative book keeping.

Exactly. I used to laugh at spy movies with this kind of stuff happening. Not any more. We have a simpleton in the White House, while numerous Dr. Evils around the world are moving weapons into place. Stolen trucks, tanks, missiles, guns and airliners moving by the thousands to unknown destinations and Obama says he will "manage" it. He is being managed by hidden tyrants and is too stupid to notice.

What I find interesting is that ISIS is estimated to be made up of around 20,000 Islamic Murderers. So a perfect match; a gun for each scum. Then I see the original story is from April of 2013. Just about right after, ISIS started to appear on our radar screens.

Coincidence? I think NOT.
