(Reuters) - Sweden put its top military staff on higher alert on Friday as a result of the situation in Ukraine, the armed forces said.
It is already participating in international maneuvers in Finland, which borders Russia, and has moved its quick-response fighter jets to the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea, off Sweden's southeast coast.

I can’t believe that this is intentional on the part of Obama, but his total disregard of world’s events seem to be waking up other countries into pulling more of their defense load, which in the long run is not a bad thing.
Watch for Obama to tale credit for this and claim that that was his plan all along.

Until 2010 they had universal military service. Now it’s all volunteer.
