Cruz’s 2014 GOP Victory Plan

DALLAS, Texas — Texas Senator Ted Cruz recently spoke at the Defending the American Dream Summit organized by Americans for Prosperity. The eighth annual Summit was the largest in the event’s history, with over three thousand attendees, and Cruz’s popularity with the conservative crowd was obvious. Like Governor Rick Perry’s speech at the Summit, Cruz’s speech was enthusiastically received by the audience and received multiple standing ovations.

AFP President Tim Phillips introduced Cruz as “one of our favorite United States Senators,” praising him as someone who “doesn’t just take the fight to the left… when it’s required, he stands up to his own party.”

Cruz entered the stage as the crowd chanted, “Run, Ted, Run!” and continued chanting as he grinned, finally saying “Wow!” As is his habit, Cruz eschewed the podium to walk around the stage as he delivered his remarks.

The presumptive 2016 presidential candidate was optimistic about the GOP’s chances in the 2014 elections, and told the grassroots activists in the audience they would be a crucial factor. “Thank you for the courage of your convictions,” said Cruz. “Because of your leadership, because of your passion, America is waking up, [and] we are winning victory after victory after victory.”

He also thanked AFP as being “front and center leading [this] fight,” and described the Summit as a “call to action,” declaring that “66 days from now, we're going to retake the United States Senate and retire Harry Reid!” as the crowd rose to their feed.

Cruz identified four key issues for this year’s election: 1) preventing amnesty, 2) stopping Obamacare, 3) adopting smarter foreign policy, and 4) defending constitutional rights.

The Senator was harshly critical of the White House’s immigration policies. “Obama has made a decision to make this election in 2014 a referendum on amnesty.” Like many

Cruz is pro-life, for strong borders, pro-2nd amendment, for smaller government, and against socialized medicine.

That's close enough. He can have my vote if he wants it.

Unfortunately, the Stupid Party is more likely to listen to Rove than Senator Cruz, which is why they deserve to lose.

Unfortunately, that means Dhimmicraps win.

He told Mark Levin’s audience, the day after election day, that he would get the country back.

He sees those who would :fundamentally transform the country” as a problem. And he is one of the couple of Republican who seem to be able to articulate that.

His credentials and recent resume are solidly pro constitution, Pro life, anti amnesty.

He is the only GOPer that would run to the right of Hillary, I’m serious.

Hillary’s resume reads like a RAP sheet.

Yet people on this forum point to this Goldman Sachs thing.

Are they serious? DO they want Palin to run? That’s not reasonable.
Do they want Hillary as POTUS? Do they think Obama followers will change and vote for a GOPe candidate?

Do they think Hillary won’t win against Jeb or Romney or Christie?

47% will still vote for her.

People won’t get out of denial about that.

And denial...isn’t just a river in Africa.

Good stuff. I would vote for him before any other republican I can think of right now.

My other favorite Republican is Jeff Sessions but I don’t believe he would run.

Agree.
The entitlement army don’t care about their general’s character as long as he/she brings home the bacon.

The comments are interesting. Someone points out how a Pew poll found that the majority of young voters agreed with Cruz, but who would never vote Republican because they buy into the stereotype that Republicans are anti-woman and only care about the rich.

And that's only with one small group of voters leaning left!! Folks in the middle and on the right know that voting Republican is a total crap shoot because half the time at least, you're voting for somebody who embraces about 90 percent of the opposition's approach to government.

The Republican party has become the party for stupid people willing to vote for the antithesis of what they want, and then getting angry when, the few times their candidates win, they proceed to enact opposition's policies.

I hope Cruz or someone of his mindset (I don't think Perry has it) gets the GOP presidential nomination in 2016 or runs "Independent" if not. If a RINO gets the official GOP nomination via gamed primaries, which as far as I'm concerned is about 99.99 percent likely, smarter and smarter Americans are going to give that candidate and the GOP the proverbial bird -- and rightly!

Romney, McCain, and RINOs prove that the GOP isn't the problem -- the problem is limiting the venue to the GOP for Cruz-like candidates.

And it’s not even a judgment. Welfare, food stamps, medical care, day care, the school system...The money will run out.

People seriously think money can be printed out, that it doesn’t need to represent wealth.

Mitt should have used his gaffe as an opportunity to teach people what they were getting into. But he is not a statesman. He is a liberal.
