Just found out that Basil is in the ICU with a subdural hematoma as the result of a fall earlier in the week.

Prayers up for our dear Mari.

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. It will cheer her up to have them read to her.
I just thought I’d share, since she’s been in the ICU they’ve given her a mental test every hour,and she’s asked several questions, and one is always, “do you know the name of the current president” her reply is always, “Yes, but I refuse to say his name” So far the nurses have laughed and said, “You pass!” but it is Austin, so you know she’ll make somebody cranky eventually lol!

They asked that question of my 100+ year old mother the last week of her life, and she was having trouble with it. She’d make me practice saying it with her, over and over. I figured that was just one more cross for me to bear, chanting Bah-rock Whoo-sane O-bah-muh! (She voted for him, and I did not, of course.) May she R.I.P.
