alestinian Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas is livid over the decision by the government earlier Sunday to assign about 4,000 dunams (988 acres) of land in Judea and Samaria as state land. Most of the land involved is in the Gush Etzion region. The decision opens the possibility of further construction in the region.
The decision is one of Israel's responses to the kidnapping and murder of Israeli teens Eyal Yifrah, Naftali Frenkel, and Gilad Sha'ar. The three were kidnapped in Gush Etzion and their bodies were found several weeks later in a field near Hevron.
Speaking Sunday evening, Abbas spokesperson Nabil Abu-Rudeineh said that the decision would “bring about a further deterioration” in peace talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. “The settlement enterprise is illegal,” he said.
An IDF spokesperson said earlier Sunday that the decision was made by the government as a concluding component of the IDF's operation to return the three teens home. Soldiers conducted intensive searches of the area, arresting dozens of Hamas terrorists, as they searched for the missing teens, hoping to bring them home alive.
Gush Etzion Regional Council head Davidi Perl praised the decision, saying that it would pave the path to building a new city in the area. ....

They get all anxious and upset if nobody’s killing them, feeling like they’re doing something wrong. Building Joooo! houses ruins piece, because then we make it our business to kill even more Joooos! than they are used to, and then they retaliate and kill little Arab kiddies that Hamas puts in and around their launching pads, and the UN says they’re like Nazis and they say ‘we are not like Nazis, they’re using human shields’ and then the UN and Hamas both say, ‘yeah, but so what. You gotta be even more careful than careful,” and then we have to throw down, too, or the Arab street starts calling us wusses, so we kill even more Jooos!, and then they build even more houses, and that’s what ruins piece.
Abbas talking is like a monkey relieving itself and then throwing its “product” at you. It has no positive value ( and the best course is to duck).

There are 640 acres in a square mile, hence, this 988 acres is about 1.6 square miles. And BTW, the murderer and terrorists Abbas should be dragged out of his gold-doored mansion and shot once in the head, and left for the buzzards.

This isn’t payback at the Palis. This is a bone tossed to the Right and the Eshkol belt for not finishing the job. He didn’t want another Fallujah, sure. But that doesn’t mean he won’t get precisely that. Especially since Bibi tipped his hand and revealed what he was afraid of. ‘He doesn’t want a Fallujah?’ the surviving Hamas leaders say among themselves, “OK. So how can we force him to get into another Fallujah?” But at least we got our bone. It’s liable to stick in the throat of our children, forced to do over yet again a war that could have been avoided in the first place in 2005.
