BERLIN — The German government says it will send high-end rifles, tank-busting weapons and armored vehicles to aid Kurdish fighters battling Islamic extremists in Iraq.

Good for the Germans. But MUCH more will be needed if the Kurds are to be expected to truly defend themselves from ISIS and other enemies down the road.

The Germans do make good weapons.The G36 is OK,but loses accuracy fast as it heats up.An overheated G36 won’t hit a man consistantly at 200 meters.German ordinance tried to blame the ammunition but that’s not the problem apparently.

The G36 kind of resembles the Sturmgewehr 44....lost cousin?
The G3 and 33 models are more the lost cousins of the 44.The G36 is it’s own design.Maybe a free floating light weight barrel isn’t the way to go.The barrel attaches to the receiver with a single large nut,the barrel is otherwise unsupported.As the barrel heats it may warp,and it wouldn’t have to warp much to take the shots off target.
No, not even close. G-36 is a direct ripoff of the Stoner designed piston gas system.
I wonder if these G36s were built in anticipation of export orders that never materialized?
