Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s campaign manager, Jesse Benton, announced his resignation late Friday, citing potential distractions over renewed attention to a controversy from the Iowa 2012 caucuses.
Benton, a longtime associate of Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and his father, former Texas Rep. Ron Paul, was tapped to run the McConnell campaign early in the election cycle. But he’s been dogged by a scandal involving the elder Paul’s 2012 Iowa campaign.
A former Iowa GOP state lawmaker pleaded guilty in recent days to charges of accepting money to change his endorsement in 2012 from Michele Bachmann to Ron Paul. Benton was the chairman of Paul’s 2012 campaign. He has not been accused of wrongdoing in the case.

There was no immediate word from the McConnell camp on who will take over the campaign on an interim or permanent basis.

Don’t know what to make of this. It certainly does not look good for
McConnell though, that his campaign manager resigns or gets fired
before the election for whatever reason.
I chatted with Benton (Ron Paul’s grandson-in-law) when he was here in Maine during the primary season.
I can tolerate a lot from hacks, but after listening to this guy, I felt a need to scrub my hands.

The DOJ is going after him to cause trouble for Rand Paul. They could care less about Mitch McConnell.
If what I have read is true the Paul’s are as corrupt as the rest of
DC Hacks. They are both Fruitcakes.

Mitch McC is proof that the brain power of Kentucky people is quite limited.
I won’t go that far. There seems to be a syndrome on voting out senior congress critters. Kentucky, South Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada, just to name a few can’t seem to do what needs to be done. McConnell R, Graham R, McCain R, and Reid D all need to go the heck home. But their states keep sending them to DC. I can’t explain it.
